Apple has announced major update to its music creation apps – Garageband and Logic Pro X. The update bumps Garageband to version 2.2 while Logic Pro X to version 10.3. Vivo launched V5, its latest selfie-focused smartphone in the ‘V series’ in India last year with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. It already teased the V5 Plus, which will launch in India on January 23rd. The smartphone went on pre-order in Malaysia recently, now the smartphone has gone official on Vivo website along with the V5 Lite, a mid-range selfie-focused smartphone. Sony Mobile has sent out invites for its Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 event in Barcelona, which is scheduled for February 27th, the first day of the MWC. The invite just says that “You’re invited to see the latest innovations unveiled at the Sony Press Conference”. The company is not expected to introduce any flagship smartphones, but we can expect some new mid-range Xperia smartphones and some accessories. Xiaomi has finally launched its Redmi Note 4 smartphone in India, as it had promised. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, similar to the Redmi Note 3, but this is powered by a an Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 SoC, instead of Hexa-Core Snapdragon 650 processor on the Redmi Note 3. It runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with MIUI 8 top, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Netflix has recorded $2.48 billion revenue in Q4 2016, up 41% YoY. The US based streaming service added 7.05 million subscribers of which 1.93 million members were from the U.S. and 5.12 million internationally. Google has acquired Fabric mobile developer platform from Twitter. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. As a result of the acquisition, Fabric our team will join Google’s Developer Products Group, working with the Firebase team.
