WhatsApp is getting its own emojis. The Facebook owned messaging app has now unveiled new set emojis that will be used in the app while chatting. Prior to this, WhatsApp used Apple’s emojis not only in its iPhone and Mac apps, but also in its apps for Android and Windows devices.
The new set of emojis is available in WhatsApp’s Android beta version 2.17.364. They appear similar to Apple’s emojis with subtle differences like for example the WhatsApp’s information desk lady emoji has a blue shirt and a bob, while Apple’s emoji has longer hair and a purple shirt. The updated emojis appear more animated than the original emojis with more lifelike eyes and expression.
Emojipedia also says the new emoji support is included up to Emoji 5.0 which is the latest version approved by Unicode.
