Worldwide smartphone shipments have declined 2.9% YoY in Q1 2018. The smartphone vendors shipped a total of 334.3 million units during the first quarter of 2018. This is a sharp decline compared to the 344.4 million units shipped in the first quarter of 2017. In some plans speeds have also been upgraded, and ACT has also introduced a new Blast Promo plan that offers 100Mbps speed and 1000GB FUP. ACT Fibernet’s Retail 1999 plan now offers 2TB (download+upload) of FUP, and the speed has been upgraded to 200Mbps.
LG just announced the company’s flagship G7 ThinQ smartphone at an event in New York, as it had promised. It has a 6.1-inch QHD+ 19.5:9 FullVision LCD Super Bright display that can be viewed easily even under direct sunlight with brightness up to 1,000 nit, displaying 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut. The bottom bezel is almost 50 percent slimmer than on the LG G6, says LG. It is powered by Snapdragon 845 with up to 6GB RAM (G7+ ThinQ).

Xiaomi at its Mi POP event in Mumbai officially launched the new Mi Music app with Hungama Music integration. This was rolled out in beta for Xiaomi users back in March. With the partnership, over 10 million tracks will be available for free for streaming across 13 Indian languages as well as international languages.
