Vivo has announced iQOO, the company’s latest mobile phone sub-brand in China. The company has posted a teaser without saying when we can expect new mobiles under the sub-brand or what the iQOO means. Some reports from China say that the new brand will focus on premium mobile phones, while few reports say Vivo is getting into to gaming phone segment to take on Xiaomi, Nubia and others.

As per IDC’s Quarterly mobile phone tracker, the Indian smartphone market has shipped 142.3 million units in 2018, registering a healthy 14.5% year-on-year (YoY) growth as compared to 2017. LG has introduced Q9 One, the company’s new Android One smartphone in Korea. It has a 6.1-inch QHD+ 19.5:9 FullVision display, is powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM, is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance, meets MIL-STD 810G requirements, and Hi-Fi Quad DAC. This was introduced as G7 One back in August last year at the IFA. The company recently introduced the Q9 smartphone in Korea.

Today the company has introduced new Pink color variants of the smartphone with gradient finish. Xiaomi’s new design patent was published in the Global Design Database of the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) on February 5th. The patent hints at a full-screen smartphone with a dual camera on the back. Furthermore, the display features a rounded off corners on all four sides.
