Google Pixel 6 may feature custom-made “Whitechapel” processor

Google may soon join Apple, Samsung and HUAWEI as a smartphone manufacturer who uses their own custom-made SoCs to power their smartphones. According to a leaked document, Google is reportedly developing a custom-chip called “GS101”, codenamed “Whitechapel”, that may power the upcoming Pixel smartphones in 2021.

Samsung has launched Galaxy F02s and Galaxy F12, new smartphones in the F series in India, as it had promised. The Galaxy F12 is a version of  Galaxy M12 that packs 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity-V display with 90Hz refresh rate, is powered by a 2GHz Octa-Core Exynos 850 processor with 4GB of RAM, runs Android 11 with OneUI 3.1, comes with 48-megapixel rear camera along with an 5-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel depth, 2-megapixel macro sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera. realme introduced the X7 Pro smartphone in China back in September last year, and the phone was launched in India recently. Now it has introduced the X7 Pro Ultra which has a 6.55-inch Full HD+ 90Hz Samsung AMOLED flexible screen with 360Hz touch sampling rate, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 4096-level brightness adjustment, 1200 nits peak brightness, 32-megapixel camera inside the punch-hole and 92.1% screen-to-body ratio. OPPO Reno 6 with 6.43-inch display, Dimensity 1200, 64MP triple rear cameras certified

A new OPPO smartphone with the model number PEXM00 has been certified by MIIT in China. This is said to launch in the Reno 6 series. Earlier rumours revealed that the Reno 6, Reno 6 Pro and the Reno 6 Pro+ will be powered by Dimensity 1200, Snapdragon 870 and Snapdragon 888, respectively. LG confirms it is shutting down its mobile phone business

After several rumours, LG today confirmed that it is closing its mobile phone business unit after it was approved by its board of directors. The company said that its strategic decision to exit the incredibly competitive mobile phone sector will enable the company to focus resources in growth areas such as electric vehicle components, connected devices, smart homes, robotics, artificial intelligence and business-to-business solutions, as well as platforms and services. Samsung Galaxy A82 5G / Galaxy A Quantum 2 with FHD+ display, 6GB RAM, Android 11 surface

We already know that Samsung is working on the Galaxy A82 (SM-A826S) smartphone. Now the press image of the Galaxy Quantum 2 has surfaced in Google Play Console, which is said to be a version of the Galaxy A82. This reveals that the phone will come with 6GB of RAM, run Android 11 and also reveals a Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) display, which should be an AMOLED screen. Twitter Spaces desktop web version coming soon

Twitter is reportedly testing desktop web browser support for their audio-based chatroom feature called Spaces. The company has been hard at work building features for Spaces and is now looking to expand platform support, which currently includes iOS and Android, to the desktop web browser.

Vivo X60t with 6.56-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Dimensity 1100, triple rear cameras with Zeiss optics announced

Vivo introduced the X60 smartphone in China back in December last year powered by  Samsung Exynos 1080 5nm SoC, but the global version had Snapdragon 870 SoC instead. Now it has introduced X60t, a cheaper version which is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1100 SoC. Other specifications remain the same, including a 6.56-inch FHD+ HDR10+ E3 AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 32MP camera inside the punch-hole and 92.7% screen-to-body ratio. Apple is introducing two new updates to their digital voice assistant Siri in the latest version of iOS Beta. First, they are introducing two new voices to choose from, and second, Siri will no longer default to either a male or female voice when being set up for the first time.

3rd Gen iPhone SE with 4.7-inch display could launch in 2022; 6.1-inch punch-hole display in 2023 model

When Apple launched the iPhone SE (2020), there was quite a bit of disappointment among the tech community when Apple made the decision to simply recycle the iPhone 8 design.
