The GSMA has announced the Winners of its 2009 Mobile Awards and a real good surprise for Nokia. The N97 Mini which has been launched in India recently has won the Award for the Best Mobile Handset Best Mobile Broadband Handset/Device . I played with the Mini at Nokia World and most recently at the Nokia N-Tourage Event in Blore and this handset is very impressive in terms of build quality , speed and kinetic scrolling and much better than the big brother. There are so many mobile platforms out there – Symbian , Android, iPhone , Blackberry , Windows Mobile , Palm , Maemo and now Bada. The handset market which was once dominated by Symbian and WinMo now has fierce competition from iPhone and Blackberry. Android is growing fast too. Maemo was was never destined to be used in a phone until the Nokia N900. Palm was almost out of the radar until the Palm Pre which came with the WebOS platform. But which is the best ? The Fujitsu F-08A works 1.5m under water and it clicks pics too . At the Fujitsu booth at Symbian Exchange last month, i saw this cool phone dipped inside a bowl of water. Its got a 5MP Camera , GSM/3G Network support, NFC,GPS , MobileTV and a Music player. I just put the camera in self timer mode and wanted to see if the camera worked fine. ( and the handset runs Symbian )
