HMD Global rolled out Android 9.0 (Pie) update for the Nokia 7 Plus last week. Today the company at its Nokia 7.1 launch event in London announced when the Pie update will arrive for its older phones.
HMD Global just announced the Nokia 7.1, the company’s latest mid-range Android One smartphone, after it surfaced recently. The main highlight of the phone is its 5.84-inch Full HD+ 19:9 screen with a notch, 80% screen-to-body ratio, has support for HDR and also supports SD to HDR real-time conversion. With HDR10 support; 1 million: 1 dynamic contrast ratio; 500-million pixels processed per second providing smooth and accurate HDR video.The display also adapts to indoor and bright outdoor sunlight. The company calls it PureDisplay. It runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) but the company has promised Android 9.0 (Pie) update . After rumors, Xiaomi today announced that it has tied up with homegrown consumer electronics contract manufacturer Dixon Technologies for ‘Make in India’ Mi TV. The plant is located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, spread across 32 acres and employs around 850 people. The factory will result in a production capacity of 100,000 Mi LED TVs per month by Q1 2019.

LG has announced its flagship V40 ThinQ penta camera smartphone as it had promised. It has a 6.4-inch FullVision OLED display with bottom bezel that is 1.6mm thinner than the predecessor. The main highlight of the smartphone is its cameras. It has triple rear cameras, 16MP 107-degree super wide-angle, 12MP standard angle and 12MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom (or 3.2x the zoom of the wide-angle lens). Huawei’s Honor brand introduced the Honor 8X, successor of the Honor 7X in China last month. The company has started global roll out of the phone from Dubai and Spain yesterday. After the Nokia 7.1 Plus (TA-1131) got certified by TENAA last week, now the live images and specifications of the Nokia 7.1 (TA-1100) has surfaced. This reveals a 5.84 FHD+ display with a notch and Snapdragon 636 SoC, similar to the Nokia 6.1 Plus, and the cameras with feature ZEISS optics with support for HDR videos. Images reveal a glass back, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a metal frame.
