Huawei has announced the Honor 2, the successor of Honor. It has a 4.5-inch (1280 × 720 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core K3V2 processor from Huawei. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has 8MP BSI rear-facing camera with 1080p full HD video-capture and 1.3MP front-facing camera. Nokia has finally announced the Lumia 822, their new Windows Phone 8 device exclusive for Verizon Wireless. It surfaced earlier this month as Nokia Atlas and has similar features as the 820 including a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) AMOLED ClearBlack display, 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and Windows Phone 8 OS. Unlike the 820, this phone has a curved design. It would support Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

Most of the features are similar to the Mi1 tablet including a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS and 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor. Rockstar Games is celebrating their 10th anniversary of their popular Game, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Samsung has reported operating profit of 8.12 trillion won ($7.4 billion) for the third quarter of 2012. That’s a 91% year-on-year increase . The net profit was 6.56 trillion won. The Mobile unit accounted for more than 50% of revenue with 26.25 trillion in this quarter, 82% increase year-on-year. The increase in profit in this segment is due to the increase in Smartphone shipments significantly due to global expansion of Galaxy S 3 and and mid or low-end products in competitive price points. Samsung and Apple are the leading Smartphone vendors based on shipments, once again in the Q3 2012, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). Nokia loses its place in the top 5 list, while RIM enters the top 5 spot by replacing Nokia’s 3rd spot. The worldwide smartphone market saw 45.3% year-over-year growth in Q3 2012 with 179.7 million unit shipments, compared to 123.7 million units in Q3 2011. SwiftKey has started teasing their new Keyboard, SwiftKey Flow for Android. The SwiftKey Flow would offer continuous gliding input with real-time prediction. This automatically predicts the word based on the movement of your finger. The concept of the SwiftKey Flow looks just like Swype, but it adds the prediction of the SwiftKey that predicts the next word in a sentence. Flipboard for Android finally gets Audio support along with the Sound Cloud integration with the latest version 1.9.7 update. Flipboard for iPhone and iPad got audio support back in May, but the first official version of Flipboard for Android that launched did not have the audio support. The new update finally brings audio support from SoundCloud and radio programming from NPR and Public Radio International (PRI) that lets you explore the new Audio category in the new content guide while reading their Flipboard.
