Idea Cellular has launched Idea Magna and Magna L, two new Android KitKat smartphones with 3G connectivity in India. The Idea Magna has a 4-inch display and is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor, while the Magna L has a 4.5-inch display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. Both these smartphones have a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. These have Dual SIM support. Other details are not available yet. Sony Xperia Z3 Compact launched in India for Rs. 44990

Sony has launched the Xperia Z3 Compact along with the Xperia Z3 in India. It was unveiled earlier this month at the IFA and packs a 4.6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) Triluminos Display with X-Reality engine, slightly larger than the Z1 Compact, powered by slightly faster 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) out of the box. It has the same 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens, 4K video recording and a 2.2-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera, similar to the Xperia Z3. Sony has launched the Xperia Z3, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in India, as expected. It was unveiled at the IFA 2014 earlier this month. Even though the 5.2-inch 1080p display and the 20.7-megapixel rear camera with 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor are similar to the Xperia Z2, the Xperia Z3 has a more brighter screen, powered by a slightly faster Snapdragon 801 SoC and runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) out of the box. Today the company has announced that it would offer 27 paid Android apps worth over $135 for free on the Amazon AppStore starting Thursday, 25th September to Saturday, 27th September 2014.. Last month the company offered 29 apps worth $100 for free for two days. This time the list is new, that includes Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode II , OfficeSuite Professional 7,  Swype Keyboard and more. Gameloft has released Asphalt Overdrive, the company’s first spinoff in the Asphalt series for Android, iPhone and iPad. The Windows Phone version is expected to release soon. This is an endless racer and has portrait orientation, similar to other arcade games from Gameloft.. It brings new control schemes that lets you swipe to change the lanes. BlackBerry Passport with 4.5-inch 453 PPI Square Display announced

BlackBerry has officially announced the Passport, the company’s latest high-end smartphone at several separate events. It was first introduced by the company’s earnings back in June and packs a 4.5” diagonal (1440 x 1440 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974-AA) processor and runs on BlackBerry OS 10.3 with new BlackBerry Assistant, BlackBerry own personal assistant. The focus here is completely on the wide portrait screen that it offers, which is exactly a square. Aimed at the enterprise, Blackberry claims that this screen will suit productivity better than any other narrow screen in the market. Among the other things, the Blackberry keyboard also gets an update, with touch enabled keys right above, on-screen.

It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with ARM Cortex A7 cores and Mali 400 GPU, has a 4.5-inch FWVGA display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). 60,000 Redmi 1S units sell out in 5.2 seconds in fourth sale in India

Xiaomi sold 60,000 units of Remi 1S smartphones in 5.2 seconds in the fourth flash sale in India today. The company put up 20,000 units more than first three Redmi sales, and over 3.5 lakh people had registered for today’s sale. It took 3.4 seconds for the company to sell 40,000 units in its third sale last week. We had already seen the benchmarks of the Spice Dream UNO and the Micromax Canvas A1 smartphones that have similar specifications such as 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with ARM Cortex A7 cores and Mali 400 GPU, 1GB RAM, 4.5-inch FWVGA display and Android 4.4 (KitKat). so the benchmarks scores should also be almost similar in this smartphone too.
