Gionee has launched Elife S5.1 in India. It is the company’s thinnest smartphone that is just 5.1mm thin and has a magnesium alloy frame. It has a 4.8-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and screen-to-body ratio of 74% since it has a narrow frame of just 1.8mm. The back cover is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and runs on Android 4.4 with Amigo 2.0 UI on top. Uber expands to Kochi making it the 11th city in India with Uber service

Uber has announced that it has expanded its service to Kochi in India. Uber is growing rapidly in India by adding new cities every few months. It was initially launched in India starting from Bangalore back in August 2013 and later expanded to New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune. It was launched in Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Kolkata in India simultaneously back in August, earlier this year. Asus has launched the PadFone mini (PF400CG) in India. It has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) smartphone that docks into a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) Padfone station. It is powered by 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom (Z2560) processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera without flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Google Nexus 9 Benchmarks

Google announced the Nexus 9 tablet made by HTC last month, and it is expected to launch in India soon, starting at Rs. 28,990. We brought you the photo galley and the unboxing of the tablet recently. Here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. The Nexus 9 has is powered by a 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with two Denver CPUs clocked at 2.5GHz per core, rather than the traditional 4+1 Cortex A15 setup. The Kepler GPU has single SMX/GPC design, which amounts to 192 CUDA cores. Even though it has the same Kepler graphics architecture found in its latest generation of PC GPUs such as NVIDIA GeForce Titan, this consumes less than 2W of power. The Nexus 9 has 2GB of RAM and  8.9″ (2048×1536 pixels) IPS display. Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G with Snapdragon 400 SoC announced in India for Rs. 9999, available late December

At the Xiaomi Redmi Note launch event, the company has announced that the Redmi Note 4G would be launching in India soon. This has support for TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) for India and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, instead of Octa-Core MediaTek chip in the 3G variant. This has single SIM support, unlike the dual SIM 3G variant.  It comes pre-loaded with Fleksy and SwiftKey keyboards. Xiaomi Redmi Note to go on sale on Flipkart on December 2nd for Rs. 8999

Mi India announced the Redmi Note smartphone in India at the Mi 3 launch event back in July. Today at an event in Delhi, the company has announced that the smartphone would go on sale at Rs. 8999 on Flipkart starting December 2nd. It would be a flash sale similar to the Mi 3 and the Redmi 1S, and the registrations for the sale would begin tomorrow, November 25th at 6PM. This is Rs. 1,000 lesser than the price Xiaomi announced last month, just like it did for the Mi3 and the Redmi 1S smartphones. There is a separate chartered plane to bring Redmi Note units later this week. This is the fourth time the company is bringing units from China to India using a chartered plane. Apple iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 now available for pre-order in India

Apple announced the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 last month.  It even announced the pricing for these models in India immediately after the announcement. Now both the tablets are available for pre-order from online retailers Flipkart and Infibeam. Flipkart would ship the tablet by the end of the month, which is next week and Infibeam would ship them on November 29th in all the metro cities.
