Samsung has officially announced Galaxy View, the company’s largest tablet with a 18.4-inch 1080p display, as it promised at the IFA last month. Even though it has a pixel density of just 119 PPI, Samsung says that the screen is optimized for media consumption and the tablet has been designed with a video-centric interface in mind. It has a dedicated home screen for videos showcases from various content services like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube, all in one place. Samsung Exynos 8890 with custom cores for Galaxy S7 said to enter mass production in December

Samsung’s Octa-Core Exynos 8890 SoC also called the Exynos M1 with custom CPU cores surfaced in benchmarks last month. There were reports that Samsung is also testing Snapdragon 820 SoC for the upcoming Galaxy S7 flagship smartphone and it might also release another variant with the high-end Snapdragon processor that will release sometime in the first half of 2016. Toshiba agrees to sell image sensor business to Sony

Toshiba Corporation today confirmed earlier reports that it will sell CMOS image sensor business to Sony Corporation. It will help it to overhaul its unprofitable semiconductor businesses after the company shared that it overstated earnings by $1.3 billion going back to fiscal 2008-2009. Even though the company did not confirm how much the deal is worth, it is worth around 20 billion yen ($166.15 million) according to Reuters. 14,000 Lenovo Vibe P1m units sold out in 10 seconds in first flash sale on Flipkart

Lenovo launched the Vibe P1m smartphone in India last week.  It went on sale on Flipkart through flash sale at 3PM today. Xolo just launched BLACK 1X, its second BLACK series smartphone, as it promised last week. It packs a 5-inch 1080p display with Asahi Dragon trail Glass protection, is powered by an Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 SoC and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with HIVE Atlas UI on top. Xolo has promised that it will be upgradable to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) in future, but no details about the time frame yet. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) that lets you focus in just 0.15 seconds, LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony or Samsung sensor, LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has unibody metal build and a fingerprint sensor 2.0 on the back that can unlock the phone in under 0.5 seconds. Apple reports record $234 billion revenue in FY 2015, 231M iPhones, 55M iPads sold

Apple has reported revenue of $51.5 billion with a net profit of $11.1 billion in their earnings for the financial year Q4 2015 that ended September 26, 2015. Revenues were up 22% and earnings per share up 38% year-over-year. For the fiscal year 2015, Apple reported revenue of 234 billion, up 28%, and 58 billion dollars over 2014. It sold over 300 million devices in the year, including 231 million iPhones, 55 million iPads, and 21 million Macs and increased its global market share for both iPhone and Mac. In FY Q4 2015 it sold 48 million iPhones, up 22% year over year, 9.8 million iPads and 5.7 million Macs. Motorola has announced the most expected DROID Turbo 2 smartphone along with the DROID Maxx 2. The DROID Turbo 2 is an enhanced version of the Moto X Style that packs a slightly smaller 5.4-inch Quad HD AMOLED 540 ppi display. It also has  Moto ShatterShield, the world’s first shatterproof display. Motorola says that the display is guaranteed not to crack or shatter for up to 4 years. It packs a Snapdragon 810 processor, runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) and is upgradable to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It has a 3760mAh battery, slightly bigger than the Moto X Style and has the same front and rear cameras. The DROID Maxx 2 is a variant of Moto X Play. Motorola launched the Moto X Style, the company’s high-end smartphone in the X series earlier this month. It went on sale couple of weeks back on Flipkart starting at Rs. 29,999. We already brought you the hands-on impressions and the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have the benchmarks. The Moto X Style is powered by an Hexa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit 20nm processor that has two bigger ARM Cortex A57 cores clocked at 1.82GHz per core and four smaller ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.44GHz per core with 600 MHz Adreno 418 GPU.
