Micromax launched affordable Canvas Spark smartphone for Rs. 4,999 back in April. It went on sale through flash sales every week on Snapdeal. Today the company has announced that it has sold 5 lakh or half a million units in less than 2 and half months, earning a revenue of Rs.2.5 billion. It has also announced a open sale for the smartphone on July 27 and July 28 on Snapdeal. The company did not announce the number of units that will be available in the sale. YouTube app gets three new tabs, full-screen playback for vertical videos

Google has updated YouTube mobile apps that adds three new tabs – Home, Subscriptions and Account to offer even better mobile experience for the users. Airtel launches 4G LTE trials in Rourkela, Tumkur, Manipal and Udupi

Airtel has launched its 4G LTE trails in Rourkela, after launching the trials in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in Odisha. It has also launched 4G services in Tumkur, Manipal and Udupi in Karnataka. It already launched 4G trails in Hubli, Dharwad, Delhi, Hyderabad, Vizag, Madurai, Chennai, Coimbatore and Mumbai. For existing Airtel customers, the company is offering a complimentary upgrade to Airtel 4G at same price as 3G. It was released for Android in May. It has 360-degree movies created by critically-acclaimed filmmakers that offer 3D and 2D animation, full-sphere surround sound, and uses phone’s sensor fusion techniques. Skype 5.6 for Android brings refreshed look to aid usability

Skype for Android has been updated to version 5.6 that brings a refreshed look. It now lets you see more chats on the Recent tab that allows you to catch up on more conversations, especially when you have multiple chats going at the same time. You can now view friends who are online, on all the screen with unified avatars that is also now rounded. Chat bubbles now have new color. This gives chats more clarity, says Skype.
