Google launches RCS messaging for Android devices

Google had acquired Jibe Mobile in October last year to adopt RCS standard. Earlier this year in February, Google teamed up with large number of global operators to accelerate the availability of RCS on Android devices. Earlier this week Google started rolling out Rich Communication Service (RCS) for select Google Messenger users. Now it has officially announced that it has partnered with U.S. carrier Sprint to launch RCS messaging to their customers using Android devices, starting today. Xiaomi just announced Redmi 4A, its latest budget 4G smartphone in the Redmi series along with the Redmi 4. It has a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor and runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes in two variants, the standard variant has a 5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 430 SoC and has 2GB of RAM. The high-end version has a 5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 SoC. It has a simple design and the company says that it has been designed with premium materials to complement the OnePlus 3. General Mobile has announced GM 5, its latest budget 4G smartphone in the ‘Android One’ lineup in partnership with Google. It runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat), but this has almost similar specifications as the General Mobile 4G that was introduced last year that includes 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 410 SoC, 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Uttar Pradesh

Airtel has launched 4G LTE services in 13 Major towns in Uttar Pradesh (UP) starting with Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Agra, Aligarh, Bulandshahar, Hapur, Mathura, Modinagar, Muzzafarnagar & Meerut. 4G will be offered using spectrum band of 1800 MHz (FD LTE and is available through mobile phones, 4G hotspots and dongles in these towns. Samsung has announced W2017 (SM-W2017), the company’s latest premium flip phone in China, which is the successor of the W2016 that was introduced last year. It packs dual 4.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED displays, so that you can use the phone even when it’s closed. You can flip open to use the other screen with a keyboard.

Meizu PRO 6s with 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED 3D Press display, Deca-Core Helio X25 announced

Meizu has introduced PRO 6s, its latest flagship smartphone and the successor of PRO 6 that was introduced back in April. It has the same 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display with 3D press that perceives different levels of pressure on the screen, is powered by Deca-Core MediaTek Helio X25 SoC, 5-megapixel front-facing camera and runs Flyme OS 5.5 based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), but this has a 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, pixel size of 1.25μm, four-axis optical image stabilization, dual-tone 10-LED ring flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) and laser auto focus. Huawei today at its Mate 9 event also introduced Huawei Fit, a fitness watch with heart rate monitoring, automatic step counting, sleep tracking and support for multi-sport activities such as Walking, Running, Cycling, Treadmill and Swimming. It also provides comprehensive and customized running programs and offers real-time coaching; after a run the watch displays VO2 max, recovery time and a training score. This gives you an indication of cardio-respiratory fitness and a recovery time assessment.
