Airtel has launched 4G LTE services in 13 Major towns in Uttar Pradesh (UP) starting with Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Agra, Aligarh, Bulandshahar, Hapur, Mathura, Modinagar, Muzzafarnagar & Meerut. 4G will be offered using spectrum band of 1800 MHz (FD LTE and is available through mobile phones, 4G hotspots and dongles in these towns.
Airtel launched its Rs. 60,000 crore network transformation and expansion program ‘Project Leap’ aimed at improving network quality, back in November 2015. It also launched a special website that allows customers to track how Project Leap, is progressing in their respective localities.
It has also announced new 4G offer for prepaid customers that lets them enjoy 10 GB 4G data for just Rs 249 in UPW & Rs. 255 in UPE with any new 4G handset. With these recharges, 1 GB data will be instantly credited to the customer’s account and the additional 9 GB data can be claimed by the customer through MyAirtel app. Users can avail a maximum of 3 recharges within 90 days, on the offer.
Customers who have a smartphone with 4G support can upgrade to a 4G SIM at their nearest Airtel retail touch points in the city or visit airtel.in/4g to request for a 4G SIM swap.
