Facebook Slingshot now available globally

Facebook officially launched its self destructing messaging app Slingshot last week. The app which enables users to send and receive photos and 15 second videos that disappear after they are viewed was only available in the US. Today, the app has gone global is available for download worldwide for Android(Jelly Bean and KitKat) and iPhone (iOS 7).

Opera Software scoops up mobile video ad firm AdColony for $350 million

Samsung’s Tizen based ZeQ smartphone leaked in new photo

Samsung announced its first Tizen based smartphone Z earlier this month. Today, photos of  Samsung ZeQ have surfaced via FCC who had approved the smartphone in December last year. The photo of the device that was first spotted by SamMobile shows NTT Docomo variant that was set for launch in Japan.

Microsoft updates Nokia camera app with Living images, continuous focus and more

Microsoft is putting more power into Lumia Windows phones by updating Nokia camera app. The version 4.7.2.5 now adds support for living images that will allow users to click images in a GIF-like format. These photos are then added with a background score and hence turn them into videos.

Google Play Games reportedly getting quest alerts and snapshots

Google is adding improvements in to Google Play Games with several features, according to Android Police. For starters, Play Games is getting Quest notifications that will alert the player whenever new quests are available, send notifications letting them know a quest has started and also when the quest was completed. Google Glass now available in the UK

Google has expanded its Explorer Program to the UK and launched Google Glass more than two years after its debut in the US. The company announced that its wearable computer’s ‘Explorer’ edition, which is aimed primarily at developers and ‘creatives’, would be available in the UK from Tuesday 24 June.

Microsoft now offers 15GB free storage for OneDrive, 1TB for Office 365 users

Owing to increasing competition in the cloud storage market, Microsoft has more than doubled its free cloud storage and Office 365 subscription. The company is offering 15 GB of free storage to subscribers, matching the amount of free storage Google Drive offers. Earlier, Microsoft offered only 7GB of free storage.
