Alibaba Cloud has announced Qwen3.8-Max Preview, the latest flagship model in its Qwen large language model family, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026 in Shanghai. The company said the model has 2.4 trillion parameters and claimed it is comparable to leading frontier AI models, second only to Fable 5.
Unlike the launch of Qwen3.7-Max in May, the company has not published a model card, activated parameter count, benchmark scores, or detailed technical specifications beyond the total parameter count. It also did not provide task-level comparisons with Qwen3.7-Max, describing the new model only as “continuously evolving.” As a result, there is currently no public benchmark data available to compare its performance with other AI models.
Token Plan provides unified access to Alibaba’s text, vision, speech, and image generation models and supports Qwen Code, OpenClaw, OpenCode, Claude Code, Codex, Cline, Cursor, Kilo CLI, and their IDE plugins.
Token Plan is available in Personal and Team editions. The Personal Edition includes the following plans:
| Plan | Price | 5-hour credits | 7-day credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $8/month (limited-time $6) | 700 | 2,500 |
| Standard | $25/month (limited-time $18) | 3,000 | 10,000 |
| Pro | $80/month (limited-time $68) | 12,000 | 40,000 |
The Team Edition is available in Standard, Pro, and Max plans with monthly quotas, team management features, and data security guarantees.
Availability
Qwen3.8-Max Preview is available through Token Plan, Qoder, and QoderWork at 10% of the standard price during the preview period. Alibaba said an open-weight release is planned soon, but has not announced a release date, licensing terms, benchmark results, or additional technical documentation.
