At MWC 2014 in Barcelona, alongside its new Nokia X series of Android powered budget smartphones, Nokia announced an addition to their Asha lineup in the form of Nokia Asha 230. Nokia Asha 230 is the newest and most affordable touch enabled Asha phone yet. Being a touch based Asha phone, it shares most of its design traits from the Asha lineup and comes with slightly rounded corners.

At MWC 2014 in Barcelona, Nokia announced a series of devices that defied its partnership with Microsoft a couple of years back. Finally, Nokia announced its own Android running smartphones. But there is definitely more to it than meets the eye. Nokia hasn’t embraced Google or its services through Android, but opened up Microsoft’s services via Android fork.
At the MWC 2014 event in Barcelona, Nokia was rumored to be announcing a Nokia smartphone running on Android and they did not disappoint the rumor mill. Before announcing the Nokia X series of Android powered Nokia smartphones, Nokia announced the entry range feature phone – Nokia 220.
Nokia held a press conference at MWC 2014 with the name – Under the Tree and announced a Android powered budget smartphone that has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now. Nokia X – Nokia’s newest range of budget smartphones, are powered by Android at heart, but use Microsoft’s services instead of Google’s services. Nokia X runs on Nokia X software platform which is a forked version of Android 4.1.2 Jellybean.
LG unveiled the L90, the top-end smartphone at the L Series III line-up few weeks back along with the L40 and the L70. As we promised, we are bringing you our hands-on impressions of the smartphone. Samsung introduced the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 with a huge 12.2-inch screen at the CES 2014 last month. It was launched in India at the Samsung Asia Forum 2014 in Bali earlier this week at a price tag of Rs. 64,900. We got to check out the tablet at the event. The NotePRO looks similar to the TabPRO 12.2 and also has almost similar specifications, but this has a S Pen stylus and Wacom Digitizer for pressure sensitive input. Asus unveiled the Padfone Mini 4.3, the first mini version of the Padfone few months back. Unlike the Padfone with a 5-inch display that docks into the Padfone station with a 10.1-inch screen, this has a 4.3-inch screen and a smaller Padfone station with a 7-inch display. Remember, there are two Padfone Mini variants. The Padfone Mini 4.3 that we have unboxed has a 4.3-inch qHD screen and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, while the new Padfone Mini that we saw at the CES 2014 last month has a 4-inch WVGA screen and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 chip. Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 3 Neo in India at a price tag of Rs. 40900, at the Samsung Forum Asia 2014 in Bali yesterday. We got to check out the device at the event. The Note 3 Neo looks exactly like the Note 3 and comes with all the S Pen features such as Action Memo, Scrapbook, Write Screen, Finder, Pen Window and also has all the Samsung-specific software features. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 in 3 new accents – Rose Gold White, Rose Gold Black and Merlot Red back in December. At the Samsung Asia Forum 2014 in Bali, we got to check out the Rose Gold Black Edition of the Note 3. It has soft leather-like back cover similar to the original Note 3 and also comes with a S Pen stylus in matching color. Check out the video below. The Lenovo K900 was the Chinese company’s first flagship launch in India. It had really good specifications for a high end phone and launched at a competitive price, only to then get lesser and suddenly turn into a really good value for money device. We had been waiting for its successor for quite a while now, and now it has come in the form of the Lenovo Vibe Z, which aims to fill the gap the K900 has left in the Indian market. The Vibe Z was announced in India just a couple of days back, at an event which we attended. It has been priced at Rs. 35,999, which is very close to what the K900 was launched for. We had taken a good look at the Vibe Z aka K910 at the Consumer electronics show in Vegas, but the phone was announced in China way back in October. The Moto G Flip Shell is Motorola’s take on the flip cover that is oh-so-popular in the Indian market. After unboxing the Indian retail version of the dual SIM Moto G, we took the normal shell for a spin and also tried out the new Flip Shell. The white flip shell we bought has a really cool texture on its back and even has magnets to close the front cover, which will offer protection. We found it to be of really high quality, so take a look at how it fits on the Moto G in this video –

Having just unboxed the Motorola Moto G, the Indian retail version that supports two SIMs, we also got to try the new Moto G shells. We had ordered them separately from Flipkart, the normal coloured replacement shell for the back and the Flip shell that protects the back AND the front. But first, lets talk about the normal shell.
