Indian tablet Shipments decline by 11% in 2017, Lenovo leads with 26.1% share: IDC
Indian tablet market has yet again seen a dip by 11% in 2017, according to International Data Corporation’s (IDC) Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker. A total of 717 thousand tablets were shipped in India with a 32% sequential decline in 2017, which is more or less similar YoY. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2017 Review
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) in India back in October this year. This comes after the Galaxy Tab A 2016 that was introduced last year but the company did not decide to launch that in India, after the Samsung Tab A (SM-T355Y) that we had reviewed back in 2015. This comes with support for voice calling capabilities similar to earlier tablets in the ‘Tab A’ series, but this is the first to include VoLTE support. It also packs a huge 5000mAh battery. Global tablet shipments continue to decline, down 5.4% YoY in Q3 2017 : IDC
Global tablet market continues to decline, and in the third quarter of 2017 (3Q17), it declined 5.4% year over year with total shipments of 40 million units, marking the twelfth consecutive quarter of annual decline, according to the latest report from International Data Corporation (IDC). This is due to growing demand for smartphones, combined with the lengthening replacement cycle of tablets and strengthening position of traditional PCs, said IDC.

Amazon has announced new Fire HD 10 Tablet, an upgrade to its 2015 model. It has a 10.1-inch widescreen 1080p Full HD display, compared to WXGA screen in the predecessor and is also 30% faster with 2x the RAM and a better quad-core processor. It also comes with Alexa hands-free for the first time in the Fire tablet that lets you just ask Alexa to control video playback (play, pause, rewind, and fast forward), launch an app, play your favorite song, or read an audiobook aloud.
