Evernote has updated their Hello app for iPhone to version 2.0 that brings lot of new features including a new user interface with a new home screen that offers more context of a person at a glace, option to scan business cards (free for first 2 month, after that it would be available only for premium users), LinkedIn and Facebook integration and lots more new features. Sony Mobile introduces my Xperia remote security service for Xperia Smartphones

Sony Mobile has announced their own free remote security service called my Xperia for Xperia smartphones. This would let the Xperia users find the device remotely when it is lost, protect private information by locking the device or delete all the information on the device. Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 7.8 update starts rolling out

Nokia has started rolling out the Windows Phone 7.8 devices for Lumia smartphones running on Windows Phone 7.5, such as Nokia Lumia 510, 610, 710, 800 and 900 as they promised. Nokia released the Lumia 505 with Windows Phone 7.8 last month for Mexico and also started shipping the Lumia 510 with WP 7.8. Whatsapp takes a breather after investigation of privacy violation by Canadian and Dutch authorities

California-based Whatsapp inc., the ubiquitous internet messaging service that rapidly became popular on all SmartPhone platforms has been facing privacy issues since its humble beginnings, but it was stepped up another notch when Dutch and Canadian privacy investigators found some disturbing violations relating to how Whatsapp handles the contacts library. However, once the investigation was over, with Whatsapp offering to fix some  flaws quickly, the issue seems to be partly resolved. But authorities say it is far from over, and there is more work to be done, from Whatsapp’s end.

Apple releases iOS 6.1 for iPhone , iPod touch and iPad

Apple has just released the iOS 6.1 software update for the iPhone , iPad and iPod touch. The update just showed up on my iPhone 5 and was about 100MB in size. It looks like an update to fix a lot of bugs.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.1.2 OTA update now rolling out in India

Samsung has finally started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update in India. The Samsung Galaxy S3 was launched in India in May last year running Android 4.0 ICS, and it got the Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean) update in November last year. Twitter launches Vine video sharing app for iPhone

Twitter has launched Vine, a new video sharing service that would let users upload a video clip up to 6 seconds directly from their mobile phone. The Vine uses a similar concept to share and discover what’s happening in the world in short and easy way just like Twitter’s 140-character limit. Even though there are several video sharing services that would let you post on twitter, this app seems fun and easy to create short videos, including stop motion videos. Microsoft and Nokia has announced that Nokia Drive+ Beta would be available for all the Windows Phone 8 devices, apart from the existing Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices in select countries. Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update starts rolling out

Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the international version of the Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) starting from Spain. Samsung is rolling out the Android 4.1.2 update for the S2 directly, skipping the Android 4.1.1 that rolled out for the Galaxy S3 back in September starting from Poland, and rolled out in India in November. Opera Ice Mobile Browser shown off, coming to Android, iPhone and iPad in February

Opera Ice, upcoming mobile browser for Android, iPhone and iPad has been revealed in a new video demo. The beta version of the app was shown off last month in an internal Opera staff meeting that Pocket-lint managed to get. The Opera Ice uses WebKit browser engine used by Apple and Google, unlike the Opera’s Presto present in the Opera Mini and the Opera Mobile .
