Facebook for Android updated with Voice Messaging, Better Sharing and more

Facebook for Android has been updated to version 2.1 that brings new features including voice messaging that was present in the Facebook Messenger app, option to share or re-post news stories and photos to friend’s time line, groups or pages, other than your own time line and more new features. The Facebook Messenger for Android got the option to send quick voice messages earlier this month and the Sharing option for Facebook for Android was introduced back in November. Temple Run 2 launched for iPhone and iPad

Imangi Studios, the creators of Temple Run has launched the Temple Run 2, sequel to the first game. The Temple Run 2 also has the similar game play mechanics such as running, jumping, turning and sliding, but adds new features including cliffs, zip lines, mines and forests. Gaana Music app launched for Android, iPhone, BlackBerry and Java phones

Times Internet has launched official Gaana Music app that would let users discover and listen to songs in Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu and 21 other languages. You can also create playlists and get recommendations for songs, if you login with your Gaana account. This app is available for Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, Samsung Bada 2.0 and Nokia Symbian and Java phones. Hope the company launches the Gaana app for Windows Phone devices soon. Google releases Chrome Beta channel for Android

Google has released Chrome Beta channel for Android phones and Tablets. This would let Android users try out upcoming features and also provide feedback. Ubuntu for phones hands-on

Canonical announced Ubuntu OS for smartphones last week, and here we have a video demo of the Ubuntu OS running on the Galaxy Nexus. The Ubuntu OS for phones has an intuitive gesture-based User Interface, right from the lock screen. The colors in the phone OS are similar the Ubuntu for desktops. It also has a sidebar to access apps quickly.

Facebook Messenger for Android and iPhone updated with Voice Messaging

Facebook has updated Messenger app for Android and iPhone that brings option to send quick voice messages to your friends. You can choose a friend or a group of friends and select the attach button next to the text area, to record voice messages. You need to press and hold the record button to record a message, which shows the number of seconds the voice is being recorded. LG Optimus 2X Android 4.0 update now available in India

LG Optimus 2X (LGP990) users have finally received the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update in India. LG started rolling out the ICS update for Korean users back in August and for European users, earlier this month. The LG Optimus 2X launched in India last April with Android 2.2 (Froyo) on-board and later received the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) back in November. Cycloramic app spins your iPhone 5 to take panoramic video

Cycloramic is a new iPhone app that uses iPhone 5’s vibrating motors to spin the phone automatically while capturing a panoramic video . You need to put the iPhone 5 on a smooth, hard and level surface, choose number of turns, and front or back camera and press the “GO” button for it to capture a panoramic video in 720p or 1080p resolution. There are several apps for the iPhone to take 360 degree panoramas, but this is the only app that spins the iPhone automatically. HTC One S JellyBean update roll out starts

HTC has started the roll out of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update in some markets including UK. We had access to a UK unit and a massive 600 MB update showed up via OTA today. The update bears the version number 3.16.401.8 and measures 612.27 MB.We decided to give it a go and it was the much awaited jelly bean update. HTC had promised that it will release Android 4.1 JellyBean for the One S and One X this year and looks like the Taiwanese phone maker is keeping its word ! Facebook Poke for iPhone launched, takes on Snapchat

Facebook has finally launched a new app called Poke for iPhone as rumored. This app would let you send a message, photo, or video to Facebook friends that expires after a specific time (1, 3, 5 or 10 seconds). This message disappears after the specified time. Earlier this month, Facebook for Android got updated allowing new users to sign up using their name and phone number without a Facebook account. Dropbox Beta for Android updated with Multiple photo sharing, deleting and Albums in Photos tab

Dropbox for Android introduced photos tabs for uploads back in October, now they have released a new Beta version that enhances the photos tab. The new 2.2.2.8 experimental build for Android brings option select, share , delete and create albums from the photos tab. The Dropbox for iPhone and iPad got the Photos tab in the version 2.0 update last week but these new features are not available yet. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.1.2 OTA update now rolling out in India

Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Galaxy Note 2 users in India. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was launched in India back in September with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) out of the box, but got the Multi-Window or Multiscreen feature in a OTA update later. Filpboard, popular social magazine app for Android has been updated to version 1.9.14 that finally brings tablet support. This would let you browse the app easily on Android tablets with the new UI optimized for tablets. The tablet interface has a sidebar with topics and offers four pages of tiles to browse quickly. SwiftKey keyboard for Android has been updated to version 3.1 that brings support for new languages including Hindi and Hinglish (hybrid of Hindi and English), new Berry theme and more. SwiftKey now includes support for 54 different languages. Nuance introduced introduced support for Hinglish keyboard in Swype for Android earlier this year. SwiftKey is also offering both the SwiftKey 3.1 for Android Phones and Tablets at a 50% discount for a limited period, just like last year.
