Xolo had launched several phones over the past 1 year, but this is the company’s first quad-core smartphone with a 5-inch HD display. Xolo launched the A1000 back in February, the Q1000 is exactly similar to it in terms of design and the display. The Q1000 comes under the company’s QCORE series. The company launched the Q800 back in March and the Q700 in May and the Q600 was launched recently . Videocon follows Vodafone, Airtel and Idea, slashes 2G data rates by 90%

Videocon Mobile Services is the latest operator to cut 2G data rates. Videocon has reduced 2G GPRS rates by 90% across Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh circles. Last month Vodafone announced reduction of 2G data rates for the Pay as you Go (PAYG) users down to 2p/10KB and Airtel announced reduction of 2G data rates by 90% for pre-paid customers in Punjab and Haryana. Few weeks back Idea Cellular has announced new 2G data rate of 2p/10KB for their prepaid and postpaid customers. Airtel increases stake in Qualcomm’s 4G venture to 51%

Airtel has increased its stake to 51% in the 4G broadband ventures owned by Qualcomm, raising it from 49% that was acquired by the company back in May 2012, according to a report from ET. Qualcomm won BWA Spectrum in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala circles in 2010 by paying about USD 1 billion (Rs. 4912.54 crore approx). LG Optimus G Pro launched in India for Rs. 42500

LG has launched the Optimus G Pro (E988), the company’s flagship smartphone in India. The phone was expected to launch in India last month. It packs a 5.5-inch (1920×1080 pixels) Full HD IPS curved glass display, powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with 400 MHz Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) with Optimus 3.0 UI. It has a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, 2.1 MP front-facing camera and packs a 3140 mAh battery. It has lot of camera features including Dual Recording, Virtual Reality (VR) Panorama Smart Video, Smart Camera, Pause and Resume Recording and lots more. HTC One Mini surfaces again in a new set of images

HTC One Mini is not a mystery any more. The specs of the phone surfaced first in February earlier this year. The press render of the phone appeared back in May along with the rumored specs. . It was caught on camera last month that showed the chin and the bottom part of the device, and whole front part of the device was revealed last month. Now the full hands-on images of the device has appeared on a Bulgarian website smartnews.bg that also confirms the specs of the device. Mediatek to launch octa-core MT6592 chip

Popular budget handset chipset manufacturer, Mediatek is all set to launch what might be the world’s first true octa-core chipset. Unlike the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa that only has four cores active at any given point of time, the Mediatek MT6592 will use eight ARM Cortex 7 cores. The chip is being built on the 28 nanometer process and will reach peak frequencies of 1.7 to 2.0Ghz.

Reliance has launched the Re.1 instant video downloads for their customers followed by Airtel and Aircel. Airtel launched Re. 1 mobile video download service back in May. Aircel partnered with Techzone to launch a service called Video Store @ Re. 1 to download download more than 20,000+ videos across more than 12 languages. HTC One S will not get Android 4.2 or Sense 5, confirms HTC

HTC has confirmed that it would upgrade the HTC One S will not receive further Android OS updates and will remain on the current version of Android and HTC Sense, according to a report from the Engadget. HTC confirmed the Android 4.1 update for the HTC One X and the One S last year that rolled out for these devices at the end of last year. The Android 4.1.1 update for these devices brought Sense 4+. Motorola teases Moto X as the first smartphone you can design yourself

The Motorola Moto X was confirmed by the Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside back in May at the D11 conference that also revealed that the phone would be assembled in the USA. The new newspaper ad that was revealed by Ad Age reveals the Moto X smartphone campaign with a tag line “Designed by you .
