At MWC 2014, both Microsoft and Nokia were present. Microsoft gave a few updates regarding their progress on Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 while Nokia announced a series of Android running budget smartphones. At the Pepcom event, Microsoft and Nokia had a booth where they had showcased the Nokia Lumia Icon which is a 5inch version of the company’s latest flagship – Nokia Lumia 1520.
ZTE, a leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has a booth at the MWC 2014 event in Barcelona and they are showcasing their latest smartphones. ZTE had launched a mini version of their flagship – ZTE Nubia 5S sometime in December and now, they are here at MWC 2014 to showcase the products to global consumers.

ZTE is present at the MWC 2014 event in Barcelona and they are showcasing their smartphones and they have on display, their current flagship – ZTE Nubia 5S. The ZTE Nubia 5S has top of the shelf specifications and is fully equipped to compete with the big boys like Samsung, Sony and LG in terms of specs.
Nokia announced its X Series smartphones, the Nokia X, X+ and XL running on Android. These phones are based on Android AOSP with Nokia’s custom platform on top. Yesterday, SwiftKey announced that the Swifkey keyboard would be available for the Nokia X series of smartphones for free. Allwinner Technology has announced its UltraOcta A80 processor with PowerVR G6230 64-core GPU. It has four ARM Cortex-A7 and four Cortex-A15 CPU cores based on ARM big.LITTLE architecture and also has Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP) that would let each CPU to be switched on or off as needed and also enables the use of all physical cores at the same time.

MediaTek unveiled its quad-core 64-bit LTE SOC, MT6732 earlier this week, today the company has announced MT6752, the company’s latest Octa-Core LTE SoC at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. It is pin compatible with the quad-core MT6732 chip. It has eight 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 Cores and Mali-T760 GPU and is aimed at Super-mid market.

Opera Web Pass was announced back in 2012, and lets operators offer time or site specific, mobile internet offerings to their customers. BlackBerry Z10 had already received a price cut in India last year, few months after it was launched at a price tag of Rs. 43,490. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its foray into the Indian market, BlackBerry has cut the price of the BlackBerry Z10 to Rs. 17,990 for a limited period. Last year the company announced EMI schemes for the Z10 and up to Rs. 11000 discount on the Z10 in exchange for old phones. Amongst the high spec devices launched by Sony, the M2 emerged as the device aimed at the mid range segment. The phone that has a design language decidedly similar to the flagship Z2. The front of the phone has a large 4.8 inch display that has a resolution of 540×960 pixels. First impressions with the hardware definitely left a positive impression as we quite liked the solid construction. BlackBerry has just announced the BlackBerry Z3, the company’s latest affordable full-touch smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This is the first smartphone made by Foxconn, after their strategic partnership back in December. It has a 5-inch display, powered by a dual-core processor and runs on the latest BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1.
