Microsoft has announced Lumia 950 XL, the company’s latest high-end smartphone at an event in New York City. It packs a 5.7-inch (1440×2560 pixels) AMOLED display, is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and runs on Windows 10. It packs a 20-megapixel autofocus rear camera with ZEISS optics, 5th gen Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), triple LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. There is also Lumia 950 XL Dual SIM, which is a dual SIM variant of the smartphone.

Its been a while since we noticed a major new Chinese entrant enter into the hot mess that is the Indian smartphone market. While Xiaomi and their ilk duke it out for the upper mid segment of the market we’ve seen quality hardware slip through the gaps left by them. Google started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Nexus devices starting from yesterday. The Nexus devices are yet to receive the over-the-air update, but there are several reports saying that Android One smartphones – Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO Mi-498 and Karbonn Sparkle V are getting the Android 6.0 update in India. Google started rolling out Android 6.0 update for Nexus devices starting from yesterday. HTC and Motorola already promised to offer Android Marshmallow update for some of its devices. Sony Mobile just confirmed Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for a range of smartphones. It doesn’t mention the Xperia Z and Z1 range, but the company says that it has been working hard to bring the major update to as many of the devices as possible, so we can expect more devices to be added in the future. Meizu announced m2, successor of the Meizu m1 in China back in July. Today the company has announced that it will launch the m2 smartphone in India next week. It packs a 5-inch HD screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 75.6%, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core 64-bit MediaTek processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with FlyMe OS 4.5. Coolpad announced back in July that it will launch the a new smartphone with a fingerprint sensor in India soon. Today it has sent an invite for the launch of a new device on October 9th. Apple confirmed last week that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will go on sale in India on October 16th. According to reports, Apple has revealed the pricing for the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus smartphones to the offline retailers. This reveals that the iPhone 6s will start at Rs. 62,000 for the base 16GB version and go up to Rs. 82,000 for the 128GB version, while the iPhone 6s Plus will start at Rs. 72,000 for the 16GB variant and go up to Rs. 92,000 for the 128GB version. It’s been a while since Oppo launched in India however its devices haven’t received as much traction as its sister company, the OnePlus. OnePlus introduced the Oneplus One last year and the OnePlus 2 this year and both the devices are quite sought after. It’s hard to say the same thing about Oppo devices. Don’t get me wrong, Oppo makes some really good devices and they actually are willing to take the risk and try something different as seen with the Oppo N1 and N3. However, there is usually something missing or a few faults that are tough to overlook and that has been the biggest chink in its armor. Both the N1 and N3 had innovative rotating camera modules and a few other unique features but one of the biggest drawbacks was the size. The N3 mitigated the size issue and some other faults to a certain extent but wasn’t enough to really impress us. The R7 Plus seems to be the most wholesome product that the company has released in quite some time and while it isn’t a high-end smartphone, it does pack a punch. Let’s dive into the review to take a look at the phone in detail and see whether it finally overcomes the issue that most Oppo smartphones seem to have.

Alleged specifications of the upcoming OnePlus mini smartphone surfaced on AnTuTu last month, now GforGames has got hold of more specifications, launch date and more details about the smartphone. The new leak coincides with the earlier AnTuTu leak that reveals a 1080p screen, Octa-Core MediaTek Helio X10 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a 13-megapixel rear camera.
