Sony Mobile has announced 2 new LTE-enabled smartphones, Xperia GX and Xperia SX for the Japanese markets. They unveiled Xperia NX and arco HD for Japan earlier this year. The Xperia GX comes with 4.6-inch Reality display and the Xperia SX has a 3.7-inch Reality display. BlackBerry maker RIM (Research in Motion) has announced its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Kristian Tear is the new COO and Frank Boulben is the new CMO. Tear served as Executive Vice President of Sony Mobile Communications previously and has held operational leadership positions with Ericsson in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Boulben is the former Executive Vice President of Strategy, Marketing and Sales for LightSquared. He previously severed as Global Director of Commercial Strategy for Vodafone Group and Executive Vice President of Brand and Consumer Marketing for Orange Group. RIM (Research in Motion) has announced BlackBerry Curve 9320 with 3G connectivity. They launched the BlackBerry Curve 9220, an affordable smartphone with 2G connectivity in India last month. It has similar design as the 9220 and has 2.44-inch (320×240 pixels) TFT display with a QWERTY keyboard and a dedicated BBM button. Samsung has announced Focus 2 in the Focus family, followed by Focus, Focus S and Focus Flash. It is the 3rd Windows Phone smartphone on AT&T with 4G LTE support after Nokia Lumia 900 and HTC HTC Titan II. The Samsung Focus 2 has 4-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) Super AMOLED display, 5MP Auto focus camera with 720p HD video recording and a VGA front facing camera. Airtel has launched their 4G LTE services in Bengaluru followed by the launch in Kolkata last month. They appointed Huawei to mange their network in Karnataka. As an introductory offer customers subscribing to 4G services will now be given a cash-back for the CPE / dongle that are priced at Rs. 7,750 and Rs. 7,999 respectively. Airtel 4G is now also available in an all new break free ultimate plan that offers 30GB free usage and is priced at Rs. 2999. They have also introduced Smartbytes so that customers can buy these add on packs and continue enjoying the 4G experience even after exhausting their monthly data limits on their plan.

Sony Xperia U is now available for pre-order in India from online retailer Flipkart. It is a part of NXT series that was announced at MWC 2012 and unveiled in India this April. It has 3.5-inch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and is powered by 1 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and is upgradable to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S3 yesterday, online retailer Clove UK has announced that they are now taking pre-orders for the 16GB variant of the Galaxy S3. Samsung has finally unpacked the much awaited Galaxy S3. It packs a 4.8 inch SuperAMOLED display , without rounded corners and home button below the display with menu and back keys beside the home button. LG has announced that they would start rolling out the Optimus L7 in major European markets this month and in Asian markets soon.
