Sony Mobile Communications has officially launched the Xperia S, their new flagship Android smartphone in their NXT series. The Xperia S comes with 4.3 inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor. It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS that is upgradable to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in Q2 2012.
It has 12MP camera with LED flash with full 1080p HD video recording, 1.3MP front-facing camera with 720p recording. It has NFC, DLNA, HDMI, BRAVIA Sync for controlling your Xperia S with your TV remote control and connectivity features such as 3G, Bluetooth with A2DP, WiFi and aGPS. It comes with 1750 mAh battery.
The Xperia P has 4-inch Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine and uses WhiteMagic display technology for an Ultra-bright power efficient viewing experience, 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash. The Xperia U is the mid-range devices that has 3.5-inch scratch-resistant TFT Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, 5MP camera with HD video recording, 8GB internal memory (6GB user memory). It would come in Black and White colors with caps in Pink and Yellow.
Both these phones are powered by 1 GHz STE U8500 dual-core processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) (Upgrade to Android 4, Ice Cream Sandwich, planned in Q2 2012). Other features include, 3G, Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth, NFC, aGPS.
The Sony Xperia Sola has 3.7-inch Reality Display and is powered by 1GHz Dual Core Processor. It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) (upgradeable to Android 4.0). It has 8GB internal memory (5GB user memory) that is expanadable up to 32GB with MicroSD. Other features include, 3G, Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth, NFC, aGPS. It would be available in Black, White and Red colors.
The Sony Xperia S comes in Black and White colors and is priced at an MRP. of Rs. 32,549. The Sony Xperia P, Xperia U and Xperia Sola would be available in India in Q2 2012.
