ZTE Grand X LTE with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0 announced

ZTE has announced the Grand X LTE (T82), their first single-chip LTE smartphone at CommunicAsia 2012. It is powered by 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has 8MP rear camera with flash, 1080p HD video recording and front camera that supports 720p HD video calls. Microsoft announces 10.6″ Surface Tablet

At an event in Los Angeles, Microsoft has just announced its first tablet called the Surface. The screen is a 10.6″ unit and is covered by Gorilla Glass. Something unique is that the tablet comes with an inbuilt kickstand.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos Dual SIM GSM Smartphone officially launched in India


Samsung has officially launched the Samsung Galaxy Ace DUOS (GT- S6802) in India. It was announced last month and went on sale earlier this month. It has Dual SIM support with hot swap function and Dual SIM always-on feature that automatically forwards calls from the phone number on SIM 2, even if a user is on the phone with SIM 1’s number. It has 3.5-inch (320 x 480 Pixels) TFT touch screen display and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. It is powered by 832 MHz processor and has 5MP Auto Focus camera. MTS launches new MBlaze plans, revises existing plans in Kolkata and West Bengal

MTS has reduced their existing tariff plans and has also introduced new plans for MBlaze customers in Kolkata and West Bengal circle. The new Rs. 45, Rs. 105, Rs. 490 would offer 150 MB, 300 MB and 3 GB of free data. The Rs. 45 plan comes with 7 days validity and the other plans come with 30 days validity. They have also introduced Rs. 698 plan with 4 GB of free data with 60 days validity. Other select plans would offer 3 times more data (Eg: Rs 198 that offered 200 MB free data would now offer 750 MB free data with 30 days validity. Hardware

The Nokia Asha 303 feels like a premium device in the hand. The curved back with an aluminum back panel definitely helps. Tapered sides and lack of any sharp edges ensure that the phone fits well in the hand.  The QWERTY keyboard is slightly recessed which somewhat helps in balancing the phone while typing quickly.

HTC One S now available in India for Rs. 33,000

HTC One S is now available in India from online retailer Saholic. HTC announced the One S at MWC 2012 and the price of One S for India was revealed on TheMobileStore last month. The Saholic site says it has 1.5GHz dual-core processor, but according to HTC India site, it comes with 1.7 GHz processor which is Snapdragon S3 instead of S4 in some countries like US and UK.  It runs on Android 4.0 ICS with HTC Sense 4 and has 4.3-inch (540×960 pixels) display, Beats Audio, and the same 8MP auto focus camera with flash, 1080p HD video recording and VGA front-facing camera present in the One X. Zync Z-990 plus 7-inch tablet running Android 4.0 launched in India for Rs. 6,490

Zync has launched the Zync Z-990 plus, successor of the Zync Z-990 that was launched this March. The new tablet has upgraded 1.5 GHz processor with MALI 400 GPU and glossy 7-inch display with similar 800 x 480 pixel resolution. It also has glossy back. Other specs are similar to the previous tablet such as 0.3 MP video calling camera and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Zync has also partnered with Ibibo to offer games in 40 categories including Teen Patti, Rummy, Can you Draw, Speed Wordz, Word War and more that comes pre-loaded in the tablet. LG Optimus L5 launching in Europe this month, will come with Dual SIM and NFC in certain markets

Sony Xperia ion coming to AT&T on June 24


The Sony Xperia Ion that was announced at CES 2012 in January would finally be available on AT&T from 24th June. The global HSPA version of  the phone was announced recently. It has 4.55-inch (1280 x 720 pixels ) HD Reality display and comes with 1.5Ghz dual-core processor. Nokia Vertu prototype running Windows Phone 8 surface

Spy shots of Nokia Vertu phone running Windows Phone 8 OS has surfaced in a Chinese site bbs.ngacn.cc. Nokia today announced their plans to sell Vertu, their luxury phone division to EQT VI in Europe, so we might not see this device. This is just an early prototype, and it’s not new that a prototype device gets leaked. Sony Ericsson Windows Phone prototype leaked earlier this year.
