IPL 2013 is starting tomorrow, with the opening ceremony kicking off in few hours. Vodafone has launched the Super Fan contest for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013. This contest would let 76 lucky Vodafone customers stand a chance to win a match ball autographed by the winning captain on Live TV during 76 matches, in the 54 day long tournament. Vodafone is a partner for IPL since 2008. It has partnered again with IPL for next 5 years as the Official partner and on air co-presenting sponsor for the IPL. Google Nexus 7 32GB WiFi and 3G versions launched in India for Rs. 18999 and Rs. 21999


Google Nexus 7 16GB version went on sale in India from the Google Play Store last month at a price tag of Rs. 15,999, which is already being delivered. Asus has launched the 32GB WiFi and 32GB 3G versions of the tablet in India. Google unveiled the Nexus 7 last June, and the 3G version with 32GB storage was announced at the Google I/O in October last year. Reliance JIO Infocomm and Reliance Communications to share RCOM’s optic fiber network

Reliance JIO Infocomm owned by Mukesh Ambani has tied up with Reliance Communications to get acces to the latter’s optic fiber network. RCOM, owned by Anil Ambani, has a cross country fiber network spread across 120,000 kilometeres. The network will serve as the backbone for Reliance Jio’s 4G network.

LG Optimus G Pro sales surpass half a million units

LG has announced that the sales (to supply channel) of their latest flagship, the Optimus G Pro has surpassed 500 thousand units in their home county Korea, in less than 40 days of launch. The LG Optimus G Pro was unveiled in February, that went on sale in Korea on February 21st. LG announced last month that they have sold over 10 million LTE smartphones globally, since their first LTE smartphone that was launched in Korea back in October 2011. The Optimus LTE sold 5,000 units on the first day of the launch, LG has announced they sold 10,000 units of the Optimus G Pro on the launch day. HTC Desire P with 4.3-inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor announced

HTC has announced the Desire P, a new Android smartphone in Taiwan. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen Super LCD2 display and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor. No details about the Android version, but it is likely to run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8MP auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash, BSI sensor for better low-light imaging and comes with Beats audio support. It has a 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. This is the successor of the Ascend Y200 that was launched last year. Huawei launched the Ascend Y210D with dual SIM support earlier this year. The Huawei Ascend G510 is also on pre-order along with the Y300. This mid-range phone lies between the Huawei Ascend G600 and the Ascend G330 that were launched earlier this year. Most of the features in this tablet are similar to the Penta T-Pad WS707C that was launched in February. Samsung Galaxy S Advance sees a huge price drop, now available for Rs. 14500

Samsung Galaxy S Advance has got a huge price cut in India, and is available for Rs. 14,500. It was announced in January last year, and launched in India last April at a price tag of Rs. 26,900 (MRP) running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It was selling at Rs. 17,500 earlier this month. Samsung announced the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the device last year, which rolled out starting from Russia earlier this year. Micromax Canvas HD now in stores, with fresh packaging, costs more

Micromax has been in a lot of news recently from unexpected demand for its Canvas Android phones to its legal tussle with Ericsson over patent infringement for over 100 crores .  The company increased the price of Canvas HD A116 to Rs.14499 from Rs.13990 due to increase in customs duty. Now the stocks of the Canvas HD are finally hitting retail stores and we could find it at few retail shops in Chennai. The retail packaging has got a fresh new look.

HTC Radar Windows Phone 7.8 update finally rolling out in India

HTC Radar Windows Phone 7.8 update India

HTC has finally started rolling out Windows Phone 7.8 update (v7.10.8862.144) for the HTC Radar in India. It started rolling out back in January in some countries. Nokia started rolling out the Windows Phone 7.8 update for their WP 7.5 devices back in January. The HTC Radar was launched in India in October 2011, and got a price cut in August. This update brings several new features including resizable live tiles, bing lockscreen wallpaper, 20 color accents and lots more. This doesn’t have the Bluetooth file transfer feature that was available in Nokia Lumia devices.
