HTC has not been having the best of days ever since the market took a turn from feature phones to touch-screen smartphones. HTC went with Android and Windows Phone(mostly Android) as its choice of platform for its devices and there were some good products like the HTC One. Despite good products, HTC has not been able to live up to reputation it once used to have and now, for the first time since 2002 when the Taiwanese company went public, HTC is looking at a loss in a quarter.
We are reported that HTC plans to launch the One mini and the Desire 500 in India soon. The Desire 500 appeared on Snapdeal last week, now the price of the phone has been revealed. Both the phones have been listed on Flipkart. The One mini was announced back in July and packs a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5. The Desire 500 was announced back in July and packs a 4.3-inch (480 × 800 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) with Sense 5. The LeapPad Explorer was launched last year in partnership with MBE, and the the next generation tablet would also come with entertainment and creative exploration including extensive library of learning games, eBooks, videos, music and more. Nokia launched the Lumia 1020, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in India last week, but they did not announce the pricing. Nokia said they would announce the price only on October 10th, a day before the launch, now the phone is available for pre-order from the official Nokia Shop for Rs 49,999. The Lumia 1020 has a 4.5-inch (1280 × 768 pixels) AMOLED capacitive touch screen ClearBlack display with Pure Motion HD+ technology. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs on the latest Windows Phone 8 OS with Amber update. Two pictures of a purported Nokia Smartwatch have leaked onto the internet. Could this be announced at the Nokia World event on the 22nd of October, or is it just some long forgotten prototype? We all know that the wearable gadget revolution is here. Google brought its Glass into the limelight with a firm vision(pun intended) on the future, Pebble made its Smartwatch, followed by Samsung with its Galaxy Gear and Sony with its second version of its pioneering Smartwatch. With the leak, it looks like even Nokia, which is all ready to get acquired by Microsoft, has or had its own plans for a wearable gadget.
Microsoft is apparently trying to court HTC, one of the major Android OEMs, to make Windows Phone run on its Android Phones, according to a report from Bloomberg. Another report from Android Central claims that HTC engineers are already looking at providing Dual Boot options of Windows Phone and Android for its upcoming devices. This is a surprising turn of events for the software giant, as the company has long stood by its licensing model that doesn’t allow this option of dual boot, but things may be changing fast, as the strategy is rapidly moving towards “Devices and Services”, especially with the announcement of a Nokia acquisition.

The Cabinet has approved the New Telecom Policy 2012 back in May 2012 which was the main reason for the introduction of free roaming across the country at a nominal cost and the upcoming Full Mobile Number Portability (MNP). It also stressed on single license across India under a new unified licence regime that prevents a separate license for the operators. Now MTS India, which operates under Sistema Shyam TeleServices (SSTL) has announced that they have received its Unified Telecom License. ZTE has announced two new smartphones, the nubia 5 and the Grand S for the U.S. markets. Both these phones have a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD IPS display at 440 ppi, powered by a 1.5 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) processor and run on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). LG Electronics plans to launch a smartphone with a curved screen next month, according to a recent report from the Wall Street Journal. CNET reported yesterday that new LG with a concave curved display will be revealed later this month and will be called the LG Z or Z1. We don’t have any solid leaks or a image of the prototype yet, but WSJ has posted a prototype sketch of the device that shows how much the device will bend.
