The world has gone totally mobile and we are all hooked on to our mobile phones more than ever before. For most of us, it is even our main computing device. As the Indian government increased the import duty on mobile phones from 10% to 15% last week, Apple has officially increased the price of its iPhones, including its iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X smartphones that were launched recently. Back in July when GST was implemented, Apple cut iPhone prices by up to Rs. 6,600, iPad prices by up to Rs. 3,900 and Mac rates by up to Rs. 11,800 in the country. Google today has announced that it is shutting down the support for project Tango officially on March 1st, 2018. Project Tango was Google’s first ever attempt on augmented reality and it required special hardware in the form of cameras and sensors to accurately map 3D areas which in turn made the phones expensive.

Google introduced step-by-step public transit navigation directions for 400+ cities globally, back in 2011. Later it was removed. Now the feature finally back worldwide, after Google started testing if for sometime. Earlier this year Google expanded transit feature to sixteen Indian cities and also said that Google Maps globally provides over 1 billion km worth of transit results every day and has schedules for more than 2.5 million public transit stops worldwide.

Indian Govt has raised the import tax on various electronic items including mobile phones, digital cameras, microwave ovens, and televisions with an aim to curb supplies from overseas and build up the domestic industry. As announced earlier this week, Apple started selling its top-end iMac Pro desktop PC from today in the U.S. starting at US$ 4,999 (Rs. 3,20,760 approx.). Apple India just announced that the iMac Pro will be available in India soon starting at a price of Rs. 4,15,000, but it did not announce the exact launch date.
