OPPO Air VOOC 40W wireless charger gets certified by the WPC, could be introduced along with Ace2

Last year OPPO joined the Wireless Power Consortium, a group of companies for developing and promoting the Qi wireless charging standard. Now a new OPPO Wireless Charger (OAWV01) has been certified by the WPC. This reveals that it will be a 40W charger and has the Qi version number v1.2.4. It shows a white with gray finish, a button in silver finish, place to keep the phone and a LED notification light in white that is hardly visible. Microsoft events will be exclusively digital until July 2021

There were multiple events and conferences that were supposed to be held during the first half of 2020 but were postponed, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of their response, Microsoft has gone ahead and announced that all their events till July 2021 will be digital-only.

OnePlus 8 Pro 30W wireless charging dock, Transparent Bumper Case, Screen Protector surface[Update: wireless charging confirmed officially]

Update 7th April 2020: Shortly after the leaked renders, OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 8 Series will feature wireless charging and will be called Warp Charge 30 Wireless. It has a peak output of up to 30W and will charge the OnePlus 8 Series up to 50% in half an hour.

OnePlus says that to achieve the 30W wireless speeds, they have combined the industry’s first isolated charge pump with Warp wireless direct charging architecture which ensures a 97% charge efficiency and reduces heat. The wireless charger’s current and voltage is controlled by a customized chip and the chip enables real-time communication between the charger and the phone.

Apart from this, Warp Charge 30 Wireless is also compatible with Qi wireless chargers at 5W speeds and you can also get 10W speeds with a 10W EPP standard charger. The company has shared more details about its technology in the forum.

WhatsApp limits message forwarding to 1 chat at a time to curb misinformation

Back in 2018, WhatsApp started adding a “forwarded” label for any message that is being forwarded from one chat to another and later limited forwarding messages to 5 chats at once globally. Following that, WhatsApp has again started limiting message forwarding to prevent the spread of fake news related to the COVID-19 crisis.

Samsung estimates $5.2 billion profit for Q1 2020, up 2.7% YoY

The COVID-19 pandemic has apparently not slowed down Samsung’s growth by a large amount, with their current estimates even beating initial expectations. Samsung posted its earnings guidance for Q1 2020, being one of the first tech companies to do so, estimating approximately 55 trillion Korean won ($45.26 billion) in sales and 6.4 trillion Korean won ($5.26 billion) in operating profit.

After rumors OPPO has officially confirmed that it will introduce the Ace2 5G, the company’s new 5G smartphone in China on April 13th. This comes after the Reno Ace that was introduced back in October last year. On weibo, in an open letter OPPO VP Brian Shen said that the Reno Ace, the first generation of OPPO Ace series phone was introduced 180 days back featuring the first 65W super flash charge fast charging along with 90Hz refresh rate screen. Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition gets 12GB RAM + 512GB Storage version

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand introduced the Redmi K30 Pro 5G smartphone in China last month in normal and zoom edition with the latter featuring 30x digital zoom. Today the company has 12GB (LPDDR5 RAM) + 512GB (UFS 3.1) storage version of the zoom edition at 4499 yuan (US$ 634 / Rs. 49,060 approx.) making it the top-end version in the K30 Pro series.
