Acer has launched Acer One S1001, the company’s latest 2-in-1 hybrid device in India that can be used as a table or as a laptop with its latch-less keyboard dock that has a in-built 500GB HDD. It has a 10-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor, has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. Acer has partnered with Amazon.in to sell it India. The LG F60 (D392) LTE smartphone was unveiled back in October last year and appeared on the official LG India website later that month for Rs. 15,000 (MRP). Now Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom reports that the smartphone is available from retail stores in India for Rs. 14200. The F60 packs a 4.5-inch WVGA display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). HTC has finally started rolling out Android 5.0.1 (Lollipop) update for the HTC One (M8) users in India. It started rolling out to the update for unlocked smartphones in several countries few weeks back. Recently HTC said the One M7 and One M8 will miss its 90 day Android Lollipop promise since their carrier versions of the One (M8) and One (M7) will not meet 90 day goal, which is February 1st. Meru Cabs has introduced that it has added Google Now integration to its app. Google updated the Google Search app to support Google Now cards from third party apps recently. Meru Cabs becomes the first cab service in India to integrate with the Google app. The Google Now integration will send passengers reminders for cab pickups, alerting them in case they wish to avail of a cab depending on their location, as well as other such information through Now cards within the Google app for Android, says the company. Samsung started changing its track from polycarbonate build, changed its usual design language and finally launched the Galaxy Alpha smartphone with metal chassis, but it still had a plastic back panel. It finally came up with the A series at the end of last year with all metal unibody design The Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 were launched in India last month. The Galaxy A5 is the top-end model in the A series that is currently available in India. Samsung even introduced the Galaxy A7 with a larger 1080p display, but it is not available in India yet. iBall Andi 5Q Cobalt Solus, the latest smartphone in the Cobalt series has been listed on the official website. According to Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom, the smartphone is priced at Rs. 10,990. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display based on one glass solution (OGS) technology and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), similar to the iBall Andi5S Cobalt3 that was launched last year, but this is powered by a slightly slower 1.4 GHz Octa-Core processor. HTC has launched a new Desire 816G dual SIM variant in India. It has the same 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, similar to last year’s Desire 816G Dual SIM, but this is powered by a faster 1.7GHz Octa-Core SoC and comes with 16GB of internal storage, but it has the same 1GB RAM. Lenovo launched the A6000 smartphone with 4G support in India at a price tag of Rs. 6,999 earlier this month. It went on sale earlier this week exclusively on Flipkart in limited numbers. Videocon has launched Infinium Z40Q Star and Infinium Z50Q Star, two new budget Android smartphones in the Infinium series. The Infinium Z40Q Star has a 4-inch WVGA, while the Infinium Z50Q Star comes with a 5-inch FWVGA display. Samsung launched the Galaxy E Series smartphones in India earlier this month. Priced at Rs. 19,300, the Galaxy E5 is a bit cheaper than the Galaxy E7 that costs Rs. 23,000. The design language of the E series is similar to the A series, including a uni-body design, but these don’t have all metal build. Check out the unboxing below.
Motorola has announced that it has sold 3 million Motorola smartphones in India till date. This includes all the Motorola smartphones in Moto G and Moto X series and Moto E. Back in November 2014 Flipkart announced that it sold 2.5 million smartphones in India. It took about 2 months for the company to sell half a million smartphones. YU today announced that it has sold 10,000 units of YU YURKA smartphones in just 3 seconds in the third flash sale on Amazon.in. It sold 15,000 units of Yureka smartphones in 4 seconds in its second flash sale last week. Next sale is scheduled for next Thursday, February 5th at 2PM. Registrations for the next sale will begin at 5PM today on Amazon. Users will have to register to participate in the weekly flash sale and registrations of previous sales will not be valid for future sales, said the company. Lenovo’s recently launched budget smartphone Lenovo A6000 sold out on Flipkart within seconds. The company has revealed that 10,000 units of the affordable LTE smartphone were sold out within 2 seconds. It received 2,55,000 registrations for the sale.
