On June 15th, the first updates to Android Lollipop 5.1.1 rolled out to the T-Mobile variants of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Over the past few weeks, the update has made its way to various regions and variants of the device. Now, it’s the turn of the Indian variants of the two devices to receive the update.
Micromax has launched Bolt D303, the company’s latest budget smartphone in the Bolt series. It has Swipe keyboard from Firstouch to translate and transliterate with patented ‘Swipe’ feature that enables users to communicate in their preferred language, similar to Unite 3 that was launched recently. It comes pre-loaded with 10 regional languages that includes, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Oriya, Bengali and Marathi. Zen Mobile has launched the Sonic 1, the company’s latest budget smartphone. It has a 5-inch (800 x 480 pixels) WVGA IPS display, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It packs a a 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and a 2 MP front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support and has 3G connectivity. Huawei has launched four new smartphones, three in the Y series – Y336, Y541, Y625 and G620S in the G series. The devices will be marketed through the company’s offline distributors across 1000 stores in the initial phase, said the company. The Huawei G620S also has 4G support. All these smartphones run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Emotion UI on top and have dual SIM support.
Airtel has launched their 4G LTE services in Panipat in Haryana, followed by the launch in Hisar, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Ambala and Rohtak recently. In the city, users can access 4G on Mi-Fi, Wi-Fi dongles and Wi-Fi CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment/ routers). Panasonic has launched Eluga Z, the company’s latest smartphone in the Eluga series with a metal frame based on CNC based metal grinding technique. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) OnCell HD AMOLED display, is powered by a 1.4 GHz True Octa-Core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. YU has announced that the YU YUPHORIA smartphone will be available in Golden Ticket Sale tomorrow for select customers those who have registered to buy the smartphone but were unable to get it. The sale happens on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 2 PM to 5 PM. Registered customers who were unable to purchase the YUPHORIA will be eligible to participate in the sale. They will receive an email from Amazon.in informing them of their access to the sale, said the company.
