The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released a new app called DND Services for Android devices. The app lets you register complaint to your service provider regarding Unsolicited Commercial Communication(UCC) / Telemarketing Calls or SMS if you receive them even after you have registered for DND (Do Not Disturb).

Xiaomi withdraws request for exemption over 30% local sourcing condition

Xiaomi had applied to Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) for opening single brand retail stores in India in March. Now the Chinese smartphone maker has withdrawn its request seeking complete exemption from the mandatory 30 per cent local sourcing norms for single brand retail stores, according to latest PTI report.

LG has officially launched its flagship G5 modular smartphone in India. It started taking pre-orders for the smartphone from May 21st exclusively on Flipkart and also offered a free LG Cam Plus companion device worth Rs. 6500 for the orders. The G5 packs a 5.3-inch Quad HD Quantum always-on display, is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with LG UX, has a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, OIS 2.0, Laser auto focus, and a secondary 8-megapixel rear camera with 135-degree wide angle lens. Apple’s proposal to sell refurbished iPhones in India officially rejected by the Commerce Ministry

The Indian Government has officially rejected Apple’s proposal to sell refurbished iPhones in India, as per a latest PTI report. A report earlier this month had cited a telecom ministry official over the rejection of Apple’s plan on refurbished phones. However, this time the Commerce Ministery has revealed that it is not in favour of Apple’s plans.

Xiaomi Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 will go on open sale in India from June 1

Xiaomi launched the Mi 5 smartphone in India for Rs. 24,999 back in March, which went on sale through flash sale starting from April 6th. Today the company has announced that the phone will be available through open sale starting from June 1st starting from 10AM through the Mi India website. Both the variants of the Redmi Note 3 will also go on open sale in India through Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal at the same time. Sony Xperia X and Xperia XA launched in India for Rs. 48990 and Rs. 20990

Sony has launched Xperia X and Xperia XA, the company’s latest smartphone in the new ‘X Series’ in India. Both these were announced at the MWC earlier this year. The Xperia X has a 5-inch 1080p screen, is powered by a Hexa-Core Snapdragon 650 SoC, has a fingerprint sensors on the power button and a 23-megapixel rear camera with Predictive Hybrid Autofocus that lets you choose your subject and then predicts its motion.
