Acer has launched the ICONIA B1, the company’s first affordable Android tablet in India. It was announced last week at CES 2013. It comes with a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display, runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Mediatek MT 8317T processor. Idea has launched the Ivory, the company’s first phone with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It features a 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen display similar to the Idea AURUS that was launched last September, but this has a 1 GHz processor. It comes with Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support similar to the other Idea Smartphones. It comes with a 2MP rear camera. Lava has launched Iris N501, new Android Smartphone in the Iris range. It has a 5-inch (480 × 800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 0.3MP front-facing camera for video calling. It has Dual SIM support similar to the other Iris smartphones. This would compete with other budget 5-inch Dual SIM Smartphones such as Micromax A110, iBall Andi 5c, Spice Stellar Horizon, Zync Z5 Cloud and the Intex Aqua 5.0.

Salora International has launched their first Android Smartphone, Salora PowerMaxx with a powerful 3200 mAh battery in a slim 10.2 mm, 64.5 mm frame. The PowerMaxx has a 4.5-inch (540 x 960 Pixels) qHD IPS LCD capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor and has a 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, 720p HD video recording and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. At a press conference in New Delhi, Nokia has launched the much awaited mid end Windows Phone 8 Lumia 620 in India. Nokia had announced the Lumia 620 at the Le Web Conference in Paris last month, and it was the first affordable Windows Phone 8 device from Nokia. The device, with pretty great specs for a mid end device was a surprise announcement at Le Web, and comes with sweet dual coloured polycarbonate variations. It was revealed to the world by Marko Ahtisaari, the principal design head of Nokia.

It has a 4.3-inch (800 × 480 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, but most of the specifications are similar to the Ultraphone U4, including a Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, 1 GHz processor and 2G / GRPS support. Byond Tech has launched Mi-book Mi7, the company’s first 7-inch tablet with 3G support and voice calling features. Byond launched Mi-book Mi5 , a 7-inch tablet last year with 2G voice calling support last year, but the Mi-book Mi7 has a better 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive 5-point multi-touch display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and comes with a 2MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera. It also comes pre-loaded with office suite.
