Chennai Airport prepares for paperless tickets using smartphones, tablets and laptops

Just after the BCAS(Bureau of Civil aviation Security) announced that, like the Indian Railways, Airports in India can accept tickets on phone or any computing device, the Chennai Airport has started preparations for the same. If implemented, passengers will be permitted into terminal buildings with tickets in digital form, but the boarding pass will still have to be paper once checked in.

Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S Duos and Galaxy Ace Duos get a price cut in India


Samsung has cut the price of the Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S Duos and the Galaxy Ace Duos in India, just in time for the new year. The Samsung Galaxy S3 got a price cut to Rs. 34,900 back in September, now the device is available for Rs. 31,900 after the recent price cut. It was launched in India in May for a MRP of Rs. 43,180. Even the 32GB version of the Galaxy S3 got a price to Rs. 34,900. The Galaxy Note got a price cut to Rs. 29990 back in September, now the device is available for Rs. 27,500 after the recent price cut. LG Optimus 2X Android 4.0 update now available in India

LG Optimus 2X (LGP990) users have finally received the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update in India. LG started rolling out the ICS update for Korean users back in August and for European users, earlier this month. The LG Optimus 2X launched in India last April with Android 2.2 (Froyo) on-board and later received the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) back in November. Micromax A101 with 1GHz dual-core processor now available for Rs. 9999

Micromax A101, an upgraded version of the Micromax A100 is now available in India from online retailers Snapdeal and Flipkart. Even though the Micromax A110 that was officially launched last month has better specifications, the A101 comes with almost similar features as the A100 but has a slightly improved 2100 mAh battery. It comes with a 5-inch (480 x 800 pixels) WVGA display instead of a FWGA display on the A100 and the A100 and also comes with four capactive touch buttons at the bottom. Karbonn Smart Tab 8 with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 now available for Rs. 7025

Karbonn Smart Tab 8, a new Android tablet in the Smart Tab range is now available online from Saholic. The Karbonn Smart Tab 8 (Velox) comes with a 1.5 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8.0-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) display, 3MP rear  camera and a VGA front-facing camera. The company launched Smart Tab 10 10-inch tablet with a similar processor and Android 4.1 OS few weeks back and launched the Smart Tab 9 and Smart Tab 3 back in October. Byond Phablet PIII smartphone with 6-inch display, Android 4.0 launched for Rs. 14499

Byond Tech, popular for the Mi-Book series of tablets has launched Phablet III, an Android smartphone with a 6-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and 1GHz dual-core processor. It comes with dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support with dual Standby and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It comes with a 8MP rear camera wih LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. Even though it has a large screen like a table, it has functions of a smartphone, but there are no details about the RAM and internal memory yet. Karbonn launched the A30, an Android Smartphone with a 5.9-inch screen recently. Videocon VT10 10-inch tablet running Android 4.1 now available for Rs. 11200

Looks like Videocon is on a roll. The company launched A20 and A30, affordable dual-SIM Android smartphones earlier this week, now their first tablet Videocon VT10 is on sale from online retailers, Snapdeal and HomeShop18. This tablet has a 10-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) capacitive multi-touch IPS display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and has a 2MP rear and front-facing cameras. It also comes with pre-loaded apps including NexGtv, Saavn ,Facebook, Nimbuzz and more. 10 million Samsung Galaxy devices sold in India

Samsung India has announced that they have sold 10 million Galaxy devices in India, since the Galaxy S, their first Galaxy device that was launched in India in June 2010. Samsung did not reveal the exact numbers for each devices, but said that the Samsung SIII, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy Y has contributed to more that 50% of the sales. Huawei Ascend G330 now available in India for Rs. 10990

Huawei Ascend G330 is now available for purchase from online retailer Snapdeal in India. Most of the features in the G330 are similar to the Huawei Ascend G300 that was launched in India back in July, including a 4-inch ( 800×480 pixels) IPS capactive touch screen display and a 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, but the Ascend G330 comes with a 1GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) out of the box and comes with a front-facing camera. Videocon has entered into the Smartphone segment with the launched of A20 and A30, affordable Android Smartphones in India. These are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Processors and has Dual SIM support with Dual Standby. The A20 comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 1GHz processor 3MP rear Camera and a VGA front-facing camera, while the A30 comes with a 4.0-inch WVGA display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 5MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. Vodafone India has launched customer support through live chat. This service lets Vodafone customers chat to the customer care executive to solve their queries about their connection. This saves a lot of time since it connects quickly, unlike a call to customer support that would have several procedures before it connects to a customer care executive.
