Nokia India launches Lumia Your Wish is my App contest

Nokia India, in association with NDTV has launched the Lumia Your Wish is my App contest along with the first ever app reality TV show. This would let you stand a chance to win Rs. 1 million by submitting an App idea for Lumia Smartphones. This contest would see 36 participants fight for the grand prize. 10 winners will be shortlisted, and and top 3 winning ideas would be developed into successful apps for the Windows Phone Marketplace. In addition to the grand prize of Rs 10 lakhs (1 million), the runner up would get Rs 5 lakhs and Rs 2 lakhs each. Rest 7 winners would win 7 Nokia Lumia 920 handsets. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.1.2 OTA update now rolling out in India

Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Galaxy Note 2 users in India. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was launched in India back in September with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) out of the box, but got the Multi-Window or Multiscreen feature in a OTA update later. Simmtronics XPAD X-720 7-inch Tablet with Android 4.0 launched in India for Rs. 4600

Simmtronics Semiconductors has launched XPAD X-720 with a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor and comes with a VGA front-facing camera. The tablet is made in Simmtronics factory in India and the company had already launched the tablet in Middle East and GCC countries like Saudi, Qatar and UAE. Karbonn Smart Tab 10 officially launched for Rs. 10,490

Karbonn has officially launched the Smart Tab 10 (Cosmic) in India that showed up on online retail site earlier this week. It has a 9.7-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and comes with a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera.

ICICI Bank and MMP Mobi Wallet Payment Systems, a 100% subsidiary of Tata Teleservices has announced a partnership to launch a money transfer service. Zen Mobile has launched UltraTab A700 3G, their new tablet in the UltraTab range. It has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) similar to the UltraTab A100. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor. It has a SIM card slot that supports 3G/2G SIM cards and also comes with voice calling capabilities. It has 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera for video calling and supports Flash playback for a rich entertainment experience. Karbonn Smart Tab 10 with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 now available for Rs. 10280

Karbonn Smart Tab 10, a new Android tablet in the Smart Tab range is now available online from Saholic. The Karbonn Smart Tab 10 (Cosmic) comes with a 1.5 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 9.7-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) display, 2MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. The company started selling Smart Tab 1 tablet with Jelly Bean back in August. The Karbonn Smart Tab 9 and Smart Tab 3, 9-inch and 7.1-inch tablets were officially released back in October. Lava XOLO A800 Dual SIM Android Smartphone now available for Rs. 11999

Lava XOLO A800, new phone in the XOLO series is now available from online retailers Flipkart and Snapdeal. Most features are similar to the A700 that went on sale last month including Dual SIM support, 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color capacitive touch screen IPS display and 1GHz dual-core processor. Micromax A68 Smarty 4.0 with 4-inch display, Android 4.0 now available for Rs. 6490

Micromax A68 Smarty 4.0, new phone in the Smarty range is now available from online retailers Saholic and Flipkart. The company launched the A25 Smarty budget Android phone couple of months back. The A68 comes with 2G EDGE support similar to the A25. It has a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen IPS display and is powered by a 1 GHz MediaTek MT6515 processor. Nationwide Mobile Number Portability expected by February 2013

Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is expected to be rolled out Nationwide by February 2013, said Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal, according to report from Economic Times. This would let the subscribers retain their numbers even if they move to another state, irrespective of the service provider. Mobile Number Portability (MNP) went live in India back in January 2011 that enables users retain their number when they switch from one operator to another within the circle.
