Oppo N1 mini with 13MP rotating camera coming to India soon

Oppo unveiled the N1 mini, a smaller variant of the Oppo N1 with a 13-megapixel rotating camera back in June. Today, OPPO Mobile India started teasing the India launch of the smartphone on its social platforms. It says “Revolutionary 24 Mega Pixels Ultra HD Camera, Coming Soon!” with caption Mini in size Max on fun. The 13-megapixel camera on the Oppo N1 mini has Sony IMX214 stacked sensor, 6-element lens, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. It is also capable of capturing 24 megapixel photos. Micromax overtakes Samsung to become leading mobile phone vendor in India in Q2 2014

Micromax is the leading mobile phone vendor in India based on shipments, according to a report from CounterPoint Research. Last week’s Canalys report revealed that Motorola overtook Nokia to become the fourth largest smartphone vendor in India in Q2 2014. According to the CounterPoint Research report, Indian mobile phone market grew 2% annually and smartphone segment grew 68% annually. Both the Milagrow M2Pro 3G Call 16GB and 32GB variants have 7.9-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. All these run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).

Motorola overtakes Nokia to become India’s 4th largest smartphone vendor

Motorola is the fourth largest smartphone vendor by shipments in Q2 2014, overtaking Nokia (Microsoft), according to handset sales tracker Canalys. Few months back Motorola announced that it shipped 6.5 million smartphones globally in Q1 2014. According to the report, Motorola shipped 379,310 units of smartphones in India in Q1. The company did not reveal its global shipment data for Q2 yet, but the Canalys report says Motorola has shipped 955,650 units in the Q2 2014. Samsung today opened its first flagship Customer Service Plaza in Delhi that aims to offer best in class after sales service for Samsung customers. Asus launched the Zenfone series of smartphones in India last month. We reviewed the Zenfone 5 recently. The Zenfone 6, top-end model in the series with a 6-inch HD display is priced at Rs. 16,999. It is one of the few large-screen smartphones in this price range to launch in India recently, apart from smartphones like the Xolo Q2500 PocketPad and Lava Magnum X604 from local manufacturers. Asus has been using Intel Atom processors for its Fonepad tablets, even the Zenfone smartphones are powered by Intel Atom processors. Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Nashik

Airtel has launched 4G services in Nashik, Maharashtra. The company launched 4G services in Pune, Maharashtra in 2012. It launched 4G services in Nagpur last week. Nashik is the 15th city in the country to get Airtel 4G. Customers in Nashik can access 4G on dongles and Wi-Fi CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment/ routers), but the company has not launched 4G on mobile in the city yet.
