Lava is all set to launch the Iris 460 in the Iris series running Android 4.4 (KitKat). The smartphone is listed on the official website and packs a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen based on one-glass-solution (OGS) technology, 1.3 GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Celkon launched the Millennium Vogue Q455, a budget smartphone running Android 4.4 (KitKat) few days back, a week after launching the Millennium Elite Q470 and the Millennium Power Q3000 in the Millennium series. It has a 4.5-inch qHD OGS screen and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 processor with VideoCore IV GPU and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Panasonic started teasing India launch of the Eluga smartphone series last month. Today the company has announced that it would launch the Eluga smartphone on July 30th. Almost two months after launching the Slide 3G 7803Q-900 with 7.85-inch display, iBall has introduced iBall 3G 7345Q-800, that is now available from Snapdeal. It has a 7-inch HD IPS display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Airtel has launched 4G services in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The company already offers 4G services in Pune, Maharashtra since 2012. It launched 4G services in Patiala, Punjab last week. Nagpur is the 14th city in the country to get Airtel 4G, said the company. Customers in Nagpur too can access 4G on dongles and Wi-Fi CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment/ routers). 4G on mobile is not available in the city yet. Aircel has partnered with Micromax to launch Canvas Beat, a new music smartphone. It went on sale recently as Canvas Beat A114R and packs a 5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) IPS display, powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 processor with Vidcore IV GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support, similar to other Canvas smartphones.
Oplus has launched XonPhone 5, the company’s latest smartphone as we reported. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display based on one-glass-solution, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Gionee has released the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for the Elife E7 mini in India. The company rolled out KitKat update for the Elife S5.5 and CTRL V5 smartphones in India earlier this month. Unlike the OTA update for those phones, update for the Elife E7 mini needs to be installed via flash tools. The Elife E7 mini went on sale in India back in April running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), and the KitKat update brings revamped user interface, enhanced features like an updated Amigo paper and game zone, wallpapers application, improved security and more. As expected, Xiaomi continued their flash sale marketing with their first sale in India on 22nd July. This came after a week of registrations, when over a lakh Indians registered to be eligible to buy the device when it goes on sale.
