Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus with Android 4.0 image and specs surface

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus (GT-S5301), successor of the Galaxy Pocket has surfaced online along with the complete specs. The design looks similar to the Galaxy Pocket. According to SamMobile, it would have similar features including a 2.8-inch QVGA capacitive touch screen display, 2 megapixel camera and a 1200 mAh battery. It would run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Samsung announced the Galaxy Pocket in March last year, that launched in India in April. Acer ICONIA B1 7-inch Tablet with Android 4.1 launched in India for Rs. 7999

Acer has launched the ICONIA B1, the company’s first affordable Android tablet in India. It was announced last week at CES 2013. It comes with a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display, runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Mediatek MT 8317T processor. Apple iPad 4 vs iPad 3, is it worth the upgrade?

Earlier this month, we unboxed the Apple iPad 4 and have been testing it out in our labs for our upcoming review. At the same time, we have also been pondering why Apple released an iPad so soon, over the iPad 3. It was widely believed that the iPad 3 lacked in performance due to the burden that the retina display that brought with it. So, yes, we are comparing the two on video, so lets take a look at that first.

Idea Ivory Dual SIM 3G Smartphone running Android 4.0 launched for Rs. 7390

Idea has launched the Ivory, the company’s first phone with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It features a 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen display similar to the Idea AURUS that was launched last September, but this has a 1 GHz processor. It comes with Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support similar to the other Idea Smartphones. It comes with a 2MP rear camera. Asus MeMO Pad 7-inch tablet running Android 4.1 announced

Asus has announced the MeMo Pad, their new affordable 7-inch tablet after the CES 2013. The Asus MeMO Pad has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), similar to the Acer Iconia B1-A71 that was announced at CES last week, but this tablet is powered by a 1GHz WonderMedia PRIZM WM8950 processor instead of a dual-core Mediatek processor. It has a 1MP front-facing camera with BSI sensor, 720p HD video capture at 30 fps. It has non-slip diamond-patterned finish at the back. Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone sales surpass 100 million units globally

Samsung has announced that the combined sales (supply chain) of the Samsung Galaxy S, the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy S3 has crossed 100 million globally. The combined sales of the Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 crossed 50 million back in June 2012. The Samsung Galaxy S was introduced back in May 2010, and it took 2 years and 7 months for the S series phones to reach 100 million sales mark. Google has released Chrome Beta channel for Android phones and Tablets. This would let Android users try out upcoming features and also provide feedback. The beta channel also adds new features including faster Octane performance, CSS Filters for developers and more. Google launched Chrome for Android last February. Lava Iris N501 with 5-inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0 launched for Rs. 9999

 

Lava has launched Iris N501, new Android Smartphone in the Iris range. It has a 5-inch (480 × 800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 0.3MP front-facing camera for video calling.  It has Dual SIM support similar to the other Iris smartphones. This would compete with other budget 5-inch Dual SIM Smartphones such as Micromax A110iBall Andi 5cSpice Stellar HorizonZync Z5 Cloud and the Intex Aqua 5.0.

Ubuntu for phones hands-on

Canonical announced Ubuntu OS for smartphones last week, and here we have a video demo of the Ubuntu OS running on the Galaxy Nexus. The Ubuntu OS for phones has an intuitive gesture-based User Interface, right from the lock screen. The colors in the phone OS are similar the Ubuntu for desktops. It also has a sidebar to access apps quickly.

Salora International has launched their first Android Smartphone, Salora PowerMaxx with a powerful 3200 mAh battery in a slim 10.2 mm, 64.5 mm frame. Samsung has announced the Galaxy S2 Plus. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touch screen display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). It  has a 8MP auto focus camera with LED flash, zero-lag shutter and a 2MP HD front-facing camera. It also comes with Samsung’s unique features such as S Voice,  Popup Video, Smart Stay, Direct Call, Smart Alert and AllShare Play. It would also come with optional NFC support. Nokia Lumia 620 launched in India, no word on the pricing yet

At a press conference in New Delhi, Nokia has launched the much awaited mid end Windows Phone 8 Lumia 620 in India. Nokia had announced the Lumia 620 at the Le Web Conference in Paris last month, and it was the first affordable Windows Phone 8 device from Nokia. The device, with pretty great specs for a mid end device was a surprise announcement at Le Web, and comes with sweet dual coloured polycarbonate variations. It was revealed to the world by Marko Ahtisaari, the principal design head of Nokia.

Nokia Lumia 820 launched in India for Rs. 27559

Huawei Ascend W1 hands-on Photo Gallery
