Xiaomi reduced the price of the Redmi Note to Rs. 8,999 and announced that it will go on sale in India on Flipkart on December 2nd. Today the company has announced that 50,000 units of Redmi Note smartphones will be available for purchase in the first batch of sales next Tuesday at 2PM. 40,000 Redmi 1S smartphones went on sale on the smartphone’s first sale on September 2nd. Xolo has launched Opus 3, the company’s latest smartphone in the Opus series It has a 5-inch HD display, powered by 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Cyanogen Inc. recently announced an exclusive partnership with Micromax in India to build Cyanogen OS for Yu branded devices launching in December. It also said that Cyanogen OS will not support any other devices shipping in India with future updates including Lollipop. OnePlus has now come forward to announce that it will offer own builds for the OnePlus One smartphones in India and the first community build will be available starting December, with the final build ready by February 2015. OnePlus is now offering the OnePlus One without an invite. There is no Pre-order time limit or queue. Even though the OnePlus One invite system still exists, the company introduced pre-order system in October for few hours and the second pre-order event was held on November 17th. If you live in any of the launch countries, you can order the 16GB Silk White version or the 64GB Sandstone Black version for $299 and $349, respectively. Lava Iris 401, the latest entry-level smartphone in the Iris series has appeared on the official website. It has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera.. It also has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Iris smartphones, but lacks 3G support. Chinese phone maker Meizu has signed a strategic agreement with Canonical, the company confirmed on their Facebook page. The reason for the deal signed by Canonical CEO Jane Silber on November 25 at Meizu’s HQ in Zhuhai, China is not know yet. According to Chinese website MyDrivers, Meizu said that Ubuntu-powered Meizu MX series smartphone would be released in Q1 2015 in China and Europe. Apple has revealed that iOS 8 now runs on a majority of devices registered with the App Store. The iOS 8 operating system now runs on 60% of iPhone and iPads as of November 24.
Cyanogen Inc. has launched Themes Design Challenge that lets artists and content creators submit original theme packs for the Cyanogen OS that comes pre-installed on smartphones. You can customize user interface, including wallpapers, icons, fonts, boot animations, and controls of the operating system. Twitter has announced that it will start keeping a track of the apps that are downloaded by its users on mobile devices. The micro blogging site said that it wants to deliver a more tailored experience.
Dubbed as “app graph”, the feature which is optional is roll to iPhone users while it will go live for Android next week. Twitter assured that it will only track which applications you have installed, not any data from within the applications. It will notify users when its monitoring feature will be active. By tracking the apps people are downloading, the company can better gauge users’ interests and surface better suggestions of new accounts to follow and, most importantly, more relevant ads.

In order to disable the app graph feature before it appears, you can turn on “Limit Ad Tracking” in your iPhone Twitter app’s settings or, if you are an Android user, select “Opt out of interest-based ads.” Twitter is not the only social network that keeps a tab on your downloaded apps, Facebook also does the same but only for apps that use company’s software development kits.

Google launched the Android One series in India at an event back in September. Now the Karbonn Sparkle V, the company’s first Android One smartphone is on sale in the UK via Amazon for £129.99 or £99 as part of a Black Friday promotion. This becomes the first Android One smartphone to sell in the UK. It was launched in India for Rs. 6,399 and got a price cut to Rs. 5,999 last month.
