LG Optimus G Pro sales surpass half a million units

LG has announced that the sales (to supply channel) of their latest flagship, the Optimus G Pro has surpassed 500 thousand units in their home county Korea, in less than 40 days of launch. The LG Optimus G Pro was unveiled in February, that went on sale in Korea on February 21st. LG announced last month that they have sold over 10 million LTE smartphones globally, since their first LTE smartphone that was launched in Korea back in October 2011. The Optimus LTE sold 5,000 units on the first day of the launch, LG has announced they sold 10,000 units of the Optimus G Pro on the launch day. HTC Desire P with 4.3-inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor announced

HTC has announced the Desire P, a new Android smartphone in Taiwan. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen Super LCD2 display and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor. No details about the Android version, but it is likely to run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8MP auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash, BSI sensor for better low-light imaging and comes with Beats audio support. Huawei Ascend Y300 that was announced earlier this year at the MWC 2013 is now on pre-order in India from online retailer Flipkart. It has a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Huawei Emotion 1.0 UI. It has a 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. This is the successor of the Ascend Y200 that was launched last year. Huawei launched the Ascend Y210D with dual SIM support earlier this year. The Huawei Ascend G510 is also on pre-order along with the Y300. It has a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Huawei Emotion UI. It has a 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. It has Huawei’s proprietary technology that enables boot in 5 seconds and has  DTS Audio support. This mid-range phone lies between the Huawei Ascend G600 and the Ascend G330 that were launched earlier this year. It has a 7-inch ( 800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) . It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. It has 2G voice calling support and data connectivity via SIM card slot, 3G support via USB dongle and packs a 3000 mAh battery. Most of the features in this tablet are similar to the Penta T-Pad WS707C that was launched in February. Micromax Canvas HD now in stores, with fresh packaging, costs more

Micromax has been in a lot of news recently from unexpected demand for its Canvas Android phones to its legal tussle with Ericsson over patent infringement for over 100 crores .  The company increased the price of Canvas HD A116 to Rs.14499 from Rs.13990 due to increase in customs duty. Now the stocks of the Canvas HD are finally hitting retail stores and we could find it at few retail shops in Chennai. The retail packaging has got a fresh new look.

Google Nexus 7 orders already being delivered in India

When the Google Nexus 7 tablet went on sale last week , Google indicated that it would ship the orders by April 5th.  But looks like the company decided to ship them out earlier than expected. A few readers have already mailed us that they have already received Fedex tracking numbers for the shipment and 1 reader actually got the device delivered at his home as you can see from the photo below. Micromax A116 Canvas HD Benchmarks

Micromax A116 Canvas HD Benchmarks

Micromax unveiled the A116 Canvas HD back in January, started selling the device through online retailer Snapdeal starting from February 14th. It has 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 Cortex A7 CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz with PowerVR SGX544 GPU. This was the first phone to launch in India with the quad-core MediaTek processor. We reviewed the device last month, but we didn’t share complete benchmarks of the device back then. Here are the benchmark comparison with the other mid-range Android smartphones in the market .

HTC One UltraPixel camera samples and full HD video sample

The HTC One that we recently unboxed was really hyped up by HTC for one special feature, the camera. Bucking the trend, HTC went for a different approach by not counting on the megapixels. With just a 4 MP sensor, touting the pixels as an “Ultrapixel”, HTC sought out better image quality coupled with Optical Image Stabilization for better low light performance instead of the never ending megapixel race. Not only that, they also have a new video and still image experience in terms of software with HTC Zoe, capturing all the important memories in a sequential manner, without having to worry about missing a moment. Samsung Galaxy S4 mini confirmed, launching in June?

The device has been confirmed in an in-depth article on Samsung by Bloomberg Businessweek, which reveals that the device would launch soon after the launch of Galaxy S4 in April. It was launched in Taiwan earlier this week as we told you, and all the four major carriers have started taking pre-orders for the device in Taiwan. The Padfone Infinity packs a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display and the Padfone station has a 10.1-inch (1920×1080 pixels) display. It is powered by 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Xolo has officially launched the B700, the company’s new Android smartphone with a 3450 mAh battery which offers 363 hours of standby 20 hours of talk time on 3G,  up to 38 hours Music Playback via internal speakers and up to 86 hours via wired headset. Xolo promises 9 hours of video playback while using internal speakers and up to 10.5 hours while using a wired headset.
