Oppo unveiled the Oppo R5 with stainless steel body, micro-arc frame that is just 4.85mm thick at an event in Singapore back in September. Oppo today launched the Oppo R5 smartphone in India as expected. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 GPU and runs on Color OS 2.0 based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Airtel’s new move will be welcomed by customers since the company was heavily criticized by consumers after it decided to implement separate data charges for VoIP data on Skype, Viber and other apps. Airtel announces exclusive VoIP pack at Rs. 75 for 75MB

Few days after announcing that it will charge separately for VoIP calls at standard data rates of 4p/10 KB on 3G and 10p/10 KB on 2G, Airtel today announced that it will introduce new VoIP exclusive packs for its pre-paid customers soon. The VoIP exclusive pack costs Rs. 75 for 75MB with 28 days validity. It is not clear if this pack is applicable for all 2G, 3G and 4G customers. iBall Andi4P IPS GEM, the company’s latest smartphone in the Andi series has been listed on the official website for Rs. 6,499 (MRP). This is an upgraded version of the iBall Andi4 IPS GEM that was launched earlier this year. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, compared to 256MB RAM and 2GB of storage in the Andi4 IPS GEM. Even though it runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), similar to the Andi4 IPS GEM, iBall has promised to update the smartphone to Android 4.4 (KitKat). Check out the complete specifications below.

HTC announced the Desire EYE in India at the Double Exposure event back in October. It was supposed to go on sale in the country exclusively on Amazon late November, but it didn’t happen. Today Mumbai-based retailer Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom said that the HTC Desire EYE would be available from select offline stores in India starting today. Airtel now charges for VoIP data on Skype, Viber and other apps even with data packs

Airtel has started charging extra for VoIP calls on 3G and 2G in even if you are using packs. So, if you are using Skype to call others using Airtel 3G for 30 minutes that consumes about 60MB, you have to pay for the data charges separately, and it will not be deducted from the 2G or 3G data pack you are using. How good is the Obi Hornbill S551’s camera?

The low mid range is decidedly a hard-fought battle between manufacturers. Here, on paper specifications win the consumer but most of the times, the results hardly match expectations. The Obi Hornbill costs Rs. 9,250 but has a 13 megapixel camera, which is hardly seen at this price. It is well known that Megapixels don’t always matter, so we are putting it head on with the Xolo Q2100, a phone that is priced slightly higher, to see which comes out as the better stills camera in a tough challenge.
