Towards the end of June, the Indian Government announced it’s plan to ban 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, ShareIt, and Clean Master. Cheetah Mobiles, the company behind Clean Master was in news a few months back when Google decided to pull off quite a few of their apps from Google Play Store including the Antutu benchmark. Apps like Clean Master were popular amongst users which helped in clearing the cache of the phone. To those unaware Cheetah Mobiles is a subsidiary of Kingsoft Corporation. Xiaomi CEO and co-founder Lei Jun has also served as CEO and Chairman of the Kingsoft in the past.

Mi 9, Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro Start receiving MIUI 12 Global Stable Update

Xiaomi unveiled the latest iteration of its own proprietary Android skin MIUI, dubbed MIUI 12 Global at an event in Europe last month. MIUI 12 brings brand-new design Animations, and Dark Mode 2.0. It focuses on Privacy, Security, and Multitasking and shows all sensitive behaviors of an app. During MIUI 12 Global launch, the company promised to roll-out MIUI 12 Global Stable update for Mi 9, Mi 9T (Redmi K20 in India and China), and Mi 9T Pro (Redmi K20 in India and China) in June.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max gets another price hike in India, now starts at Rs. 16999

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max smartphone in India back in March starting at Rs. 14,999, later in April the phone got up to Rs. 1500 price hike in the country due to increase in GST to 18% on mobile phones, and was sold at Rs. 16499. Today the phone has received a second price hike of Rs. 500 for the 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB versions and is being sold for Rs. 16,999 and Rs. 18,499, respectively.
