Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand 2 earlier today at an event in Mumbai. The successor of the Galaxy Grand would be priced between Rs. 22,900 and Rs. 24,900. It is already available for pre-order from the Samsung India eStore and would go on sale in the first week of January 2014. At the launch event we got some hands-on time with the device. Samsung GamePad Hands on

Today, Samsung announced the successor to Samsung Galaxy Grand and also unveiled their GamePad in India. Recently we brought you information that Samsung’s GamePad went on sale in Europe and today we will be bringing you the hands-on pictures with the Samsung GamePad. Samsung has announced that the GamePad will be available in India from January 2014 and will be priced at Rs. 4,999.

Samsung launches Club Samsung its first Entertainment Store for Movies, Music and Live TV in India

At the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 launch event, Samsung launched Club Samsung for its Indian infotainment content that includes, Music, Movies, Gigs and Live TV, optimized for Samsung Galaxy devices. It offers content in various languages such as Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati. Samsung GamePad coming to India in January

Recently we brought you information that Samsung’s GamePad went on sale in Europe. Today, during the launch of Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, Samsung have also announced that the Smartphone GamePad will go on sale in India from the end of January in 2014. The pricing of this GamePad was mentioned as Rs. 4,999.

Samsung Smartphone Gamepad

Samsung’s Smartphone GamePad will allow owners of Galaxy smartphone to instantly transform their smartphone into a handheld console or a gaming console by pairing the smartphone to a display. Unlike Samsung smartphones,  the Smartphone GamePad is carved out of a metal frame making it easy to hold on to and at the same time, giving it a premium look. The smartphone GamePad will connect with the smartphone via Bluetooth pairing and on optimized Android 4.3 devices like Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Note 2 and Note 3, pairing can be done via NFC tags.

Samsung Smartphone GamePad will be compatible with Samsung Galaxy devices like Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 and many others. The device will be compatible with Samsung’s PLAY application that will let you manage the controller. By pressing the Play button on the controller, you can easily access the market for games which are optimized for GamePad.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Grand 2 in India as we reported last week, but the company did not reveal the pricing. It was unveiled last month and packs a 5.25-inch (1280 x 720 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and a 1.9-megapixel HD front-facing camera. It is just 8.9 mm thick and weighs 163 grams. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 likely to launch in India on December 23rd


Samsung has sent us an invite for a smartphone launch on Monday, December 23rd, 2013. The invite just says “New GALAXY Smartphone Launch” without giving any hint about the smartphone. Since there are no new smartphones for Samsung to launch in India and it had already released the new Galaxy S Duos 2, it is likely to launch the Grand 2 next week. The Galaxy Grand that was launched earlier this year was one of the popular mid-range smartphone in this year. The Grand 2 with better display, faster processor more RAM and a larger battery would definitely attract more customers in the mid-range segment. Earlier this week Samsung unveiled the Smartphone Gamepad, a gaming controller for smartphones to improve the gaming experience. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition with GamePad bundle has been outed by a German website, AllaboutSamsung.de, who got hands-on the retail box. Even though Samsung announced that the GamePad has been optimized only for Android 4.3 devices like Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Note 2 and Note 3, the Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition is likely come with Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. Samsung announced the Galaxy S4 Active the company’s first high-end durable Galaxy smartphone back in June, but it featured a Snapdragon 600 processor. Now Samsung has released the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active (SHV-E470S) in Korea with a Snapdragon 800 processor and LTE-Advanced support. Samsung Galaxy S4 Crystal Edition unveiled, because Gold is too mainstream

When Apple announced their iPhone 5s in a Gold color, other companies followed(others read Samsung and HTC) and announced their flagship devices in Gold variants. Samsung announced just a gold colored variant while HTC went the extra mile to make their flagship entirely out of 18karat gold. Now Samsung is following its own trend by announcing a Crystal edition of Samsung Galaxy S4. I say Samsung’s own trend because in the past, Samsung had unveiled Crystal editions of Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Catching Fire video – Only barrier between uploader and replacement

Samsung Galaxy S4 is one hot phone. No! Seriously! Literally! Earlier this year, there were reports from Hong Kong that a Samsung Galaxy S4 had exploded and as a result a house caught fire. Now we have this – Samsung Galaxy S4 catches fire while charging. A YouTube user, Ghostlyrich, has uploaded a video of his Samsung Galaxy S4 that catches fire while charging via a Samsung provided charger. The video would have been silent had it not been for Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 sales surpass 10 million in two months

Samsung has announced that the sales (to supply channel) of the Galaxy Note 3 has crossed 10 million units globally since it went on sale September 25th, till November 25th. The first Galaxy Note that was launched back in October 2011 took 9 months to cross the 10 million mark and the Galaxy Note 2 took 4 months to achieve this feat, but the Note 3 has crossed the 10 million mark in just 2 months after the launch.
