Gear 2

Samsung unveiled the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit at the MWC 2014 last month. Samsung has revealed the pricing for the Gear 2 and the Gear Fit at an event in Taiwan. Samsung Galaxy Gear got priced at Rs. 22,990 when it launched in India last year. Samsung assured that the successor would be priced reasonably. The Gear 2 has been priced at NT$ 8,990 (Rs. 17,980 approx) and the Gear Fit is priced at NT$ 5,990 (Rs. 11,980 approx). Pricing for the Gear 2 Neo is not available yet.

The Gear 2 is the successor of the first Galaxy Gear, that was introduced at the IFA 2013. Unlike the first Android-based Galaxy Gear, this one runs on Tizen OS, optimized for wearable devices. The Gear 2 has the same 1.63 inch (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED display that we had seen on the Gear. It has a 2-megapixel camera capable of recording 720p HD videos.

Samsung Gear Fit-8

The Gear fit has a 1.84-inch (432 x 128 pixels) Curved Super AMOLED display. It has Pedometer, Accelerometer and Gyro sensors. It has IP67 ratings for dust and water resistance. Both these devices use Bluetooth 4.0 LE to pair with Samsung Smartphone and use the companion Gear Fit Manager app to manage apps and monitor your fitness data and also control your media on the phone, from the Gear Fit.

Both the Gear 2 and the Gear Fit has Heart Rate sensor on the bottom, to monitor your heart rate easily, in a few seconds. These devices would roll out globally starting April 11th.
