Samsung launched the Galaxy A3 smartphone with all-metal body in India for Rs. 20,500 along with the Galaxy A5 last month. We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have the benchmarks. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) SoC that has four ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs clocked at 1.19 GHz per core and has Adreno 306 GPU, similar to the Galaxy A5.  It has 1GB RAM, 4.5-inch qHD display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Let’s find out it in a range of synthetic benchmark tests.

Samsung starts mass production of Exynos 7 Octa based on 14nm technology

Samsung has announced that is has started mass production of Exynos 7 Octa processor that is based on 14nm FinFET process technology. Exynos 7 Octa was first announced back in October last year, which was based on 20nm HKMG process technology. Samsung’s FinFET process technology enables system-on-chip (SOC) designers to reap all of the advantages for the latest energy-efficient processors: die-size reductions, faster frequencies, and lower power consumption, the company had said earlier. Samsung has launched its Galaxy Grand Max (SM-G7200) smartphone in India, as expected. It packs a 5.25-inch HD display, has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and has 1.5GB RAM, similar to the Galaxy Mega 2 that was released last year. It was officially announced last month, pacls a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung’s own UI on top, comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. New Samsung Grand series smartphone launching in India next week, could be Galaxy Grand 3

Snapdeal has announced that Samsung will launch its next Grand series smartphone in India next week, exclusively on Snapdeal. This doesn’t give any hint about the smartphone or its features, but BGR.in has got hold of the teaser image of the smartphone that resembles the Samsung Galaxy Grand Max (SM-G7200) that was launched in Korea last month. The teaser also says The Grandest Ever, Coming Soon. It was also spotted on TENAA in China last month with both TDD-LTE and FDD-LTE support and it went official in the country later. Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 5.0 Lollipop update starts rolling out in India

Samsung has started rolling out Android 5.0.1 (Lollipop) update for the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) smartphone in India. It rolled out Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the smartphone about one year back. Samsung has still not revealed the list of devices that would get the Lollipop update, but it started rolling out the update for Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy S4 users in some markets. It is surprising that the company has not rolled out the Lollipop update for Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 3 users in India yet. Samsung, Microsoft settle contract dispute over patent royalties

Samsung Electronics and Microsoft have settled their contract dispute in U.S. court as well as the ICC arbitration, said both the companies in a joint statement. Back in August last year Microsoft sued Samsung accusing it of breaching a collaboration agreement by initially refusing to make royalty payments after it announced its intention to acquire Nokia’s handset business in September 2013. It claimed that Samsung still owed $6.9 million in interest on more than $1 billion patent in royalties.
