Samsung Galaxy Watch with Tizen OS, improved healthcare features said to launch alongside Galaxy Note9 on August 9 [Update: FCC certification]

Update: The Galaxy Watch has been certified by the FCC with the model number SM-R815U. This also confirms 51.2 x 43.4 dimensions and 30.2mm or 1.19-inch display size diagonally compared to 1.3-inch display on the Gear S3 series.

Samsung introduces world’s first 8Gb LPDDR5 10nm-class DRAM for mobile devices, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM coming soon

Earlier this year Samsung introduced the first 10nm-class 16Gb GDDR6 DRAM as well as 16Gb DDR5 DRAM. Today the company has introduced the first 10-nanometer (nm) class 8-gigabit (Gb) LPDDR5 DRAM as the successor to the 8Gb LPDDR4 DRAM that was introduced back in 2014 and 8GB LPDDR4 RAM mass production started in 2016. Samsung said that LPDDR5 standard will be used in upcoming 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered mobile applications. Update – July 11, 2018: A new render of the tablet shows white version with optional keyboard cover, thanks to @evleaks. This has black bezels on the front and the back is in white. The S Pen bundled is also in white color and is different compared to the one that came with the Tab S3.

Samsung opens world’s largest mobile factory in India, launches ‘Make for the World’ initiative

Samsung today opened its new mobile phone manufacturing facility – The World’s Largest Mobile Factory – in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. It also launched its ‘Make for the World’ initiative that aims to export mobile handsets produced in India, to overseas markets. With this new facility, Samsung will double its current capacity for mobile phones in Noida from 68 million units a year to 120 million units a year, in a phase-wise expansion that will be completed by 2020. Samsung Galaxy J6 4GB RAM, 64GB Storage version gets a price cut in India

Samsung launched the Galaxy J6  smartphone in India back in May at Rs. 13990 for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and Rs. 16,490 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version. Today the top-end version has received a price cut of Rs. 500, and is available for Rs. 15,990. This comes after the launch of  Galaxy On6 last week with similar specifications at Rs. 14490, cheaper than the J6.
