HTC Desire X is now available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. HTC announced the Desire X in August and it comes with a 4.0-inch (800 X 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 1 GHz Dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4.0 UI and has a 5MP auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash. It also has built-in Beats Audio support. HTC yesterday opened its first concept store in South Extension, New Delhi in India to show off its top of the line handsets. The store places an emphasis on HTC’s audio and imaging capabilities by providing two distinct sections in the store.

In the past, there have been many rumors about Microsoft releasing Office for iOS. Today, The Verge reports that a Microsoft product manager confirmed that the company is working on versions of Microsoft Office for both iOS and Android, which is expected to be released in March 2013. The comments were made to Czech site IHNED.cz [Google translation] at a press event in that country.
“In addition to Windows, Office will be also available on other operating systems, Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Symbian,” says Microsoft, while separately noting that there will also be a new version of Office Web Apps too. […]
The press release also mentions that Office 2013 will be made available to businesses in December, with a consumer launch scheduled for the end of February 2013. “Office 365 services and other Office products for mobile (phones and tablets) will be released from March 2013,” says Microsoft.
The Verge also says that it saw a press release from Microsoft’s team in the Czech Republic confirming the launch plans. Back in February, The Daily claimed that it had hands-on time with a working prototype of the software but Microsoft, but the company denied the report.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S3 mini in an event tomorrow in Germany but MobileGeeks have managed to get hold of the specifications and product images before hand. As expected, the S3 Mini is a miniaturized version of the flagship Galaxy S3 with a smaller 4″ screen and unfortunately, much scaled down specs.

Samsung mobile communications head JK Shin has apparently confirmed to the Korean press that the 4-inch version of the Galaxy S III dubbed the Galaxy S III “mini” is all set to launch in Germany on October 11th.
Google is finally allowing developers to add a free trial option to in-app subscriptions for applications in the Google Play store. The Mountain View based company today added to its developers page, details regarding the procedure for enabling trials for subscription items.

Google has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Nexus 7. The Google Nexus 7 was unveiled in June came with Android 4.1.1 but it lacked landscape mode. The new Android 4.1.2 Over the Air (OTA) update is a minor update which is about 31MB. It brings landscape mode and improvements in performance, stability and bug fixes. LG Smartphone Idea Camp contest is over and the winners got away with the prize-worth Rs. 1,000,000 along with LG Smart phones as an additional prize of Rs. 500,000. LG launched the Smartphone Idea Camp contest on August 1st which received registrations from 3700 contestants and ended on 15th September, 2012. BGR.in reports that Apple is planning to launch the iPhone 5 in India on October 26th. This isn’t the first time an October 26 launch in Asia has been mentioned. Last month, The Malay Mail reported that the iPhone 5 would be coming to Malaysia on that date, pending stock availability. There is no concrete word about the pricing yet but multiple sources FoneArena spoke to indicate a pricing of around Rs.48500-52500 approximately for the 16GB iPhone 5. Samsung unveiled the first Windows Phone 8 device, ATIV S at IFA Berlin in August but didn’t reveal the availability or the pricing at that time. Now, UK’s online retailer Clove has announced that it is now availalble for pre-order with them and would ship at the end of this month.
