Meizu introduced the first model in the note series, the m1 note at the end of last year and released it into the markets by January this year. So it came as a surprise to most of us seeing that Meizu announced its successor earlier this month in China. That is because Meizu are trying to follow a really fast update schedule. Sony themselves had two flagship models a year until very recently but Meizu are trying to release a new update to a phone every quarter. While it is good news to some, it may anger many of the customers who quite recently purchased the m1 note. Especially in India where the m1 note was launched in the later half of May 2015 and just around 2 weeks later, Meizu announced the m2 note. The m2 note is definitely an improved version of the m1 note. There is a new home button, added features and some other improvements have been made as well. But let us just dive into the review to see how good of a phone the m2 note exactly is.

Meizu m2, successor of the Meizu m1 that was introduced earlier this year, has been certified on TENAA (via) in China. The listing reveals that the smartphone will feature a 5-inch HD screen, will be powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit processor, compared to the MT6732 SoC on the predecessor and run on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with FlyMe OS. Meizu introduced the m2 note, successor of the m1 note earlier this month. We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have its benchmarks. It is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 64-bit processor that has eight ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.30 GHz per core and 450MHz Mali-T720 MP2 GPU. It has 2GB DDR3 RAM, 5.5-inch 1080p display and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Flyme OS on top. Check out the synthetic benchmark scores.
A new photo of the Meizu MX5 has been leaked online that shows its metal design in real life. The device seems to be a prototype as it does look a bit unfinished, particularly the region around the main camera.

Meizu made the official announcement of the m2 note on 2nd June in China. Physically the device does remain largely similar, being a refinement of its predecessor, the m1 note. We’ve gotten our hands on the device and prepared an unboxing for you.

It has the same 5.5-inch 1080p IGZO display, is powered by a 1.3GHz 64-bit Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 processor with eight Cortex-A53 64-bit CPUs with Mali-T720 GPU and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Flyme OS on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 69-degree wide viewing angle.
