Nimbuzz teams up with LG to pre-install app on devices, offers free ISD calls

Nimbuzz entered into a partnership with LG Mobiles to provide 100 minutes of free international calls to any number in the US. In addition to this, the Nimbuzz app will be pre-installed on LG devices. For starters, the instant messaging cross platform app will be available on L–Series III smartphones, before expanding to other devices.

Leaked LG G3 screenshots reveal beautiful new flat design in QHD resolution

Flat design is the current trend in a smartphone user interface and the movement has been going on for a while. Windows Phone, Android 4.0 ICS and more recently, Apple’s iOS 7 all have embraced flat design to different levels, and it looks like OEMs are finally catching up with their own take on a flat UI. Following Samsung’s latest Touchwiz release, leaked screenshots from a LG G3 reveal a similar direction in which the company is going flat on design and, interestingly, in Quad HD resolution(2560×1440) which confirms what we had heard about the G3 earlier. The icons have lost their gradients and thin lines have taken over gaudy colours, making the new LG UI look much more beautiful to look at, than before.

It also has a dedicated webpage that reveals that the G Watch would be dust and water resistant and reveals that it will have an always-on display, unlike the Samsung Gear 2. Since the LG G3 for AT&T is mentioned as B3 in the leaked internal documents, the B3 mini with the model number D725 would be G3 mini, according to mylgphones. It has all the software features present on the other latest LG smartphones, including KnockON with 80,000 possible KnockCode combinations to unlock the phone, QSlide 2.0, QuickMemo and more. LG India promotes Knock Code feature with new contest

LG G3 (LS990) UA Profile shows up, reveals 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 3GB RAM and more

Alleged screenshot of LG G3 leaked recently that showed off a flat Android UI. Now UA Profile of the LG LS990 for Sprint has surfaced on the official sprint website. Since the LG G2 for Sprint has a model number LS980, this smartphone is expected to be the upcoming LG G3. According the UA Profile, this smartphone would come with a 5.5-inch Quad HD (QHD) display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels that was announced last year, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974 processor (could be Snapdragon 800 or 801 SoC). LG Odin chipset entering mass production soon, to skip flagship G3

As competition in the chipset space increases, its been rumored that LG has plans of their own to bring along an ARM based system on chip dubbed Odin. While rumors have been around for a couple of years now, we finally might have something concrete around the specifics of the chipset. Believed to be based on the big.LITTLE configuration that we talked about a while back, the Odin chipset would pair four Cortex A15 cores clocked at 2.2Ghz each with four Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.7Ghz. LG has announced that the LG G2 mini would roll out globally starting from next month. It was unveiled ahead of MWC 2014 and packs a 4.7-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 or 1.7 GHz Nvidia Tegra 4i processor, and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8 or 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It will be available in Dual SIM variants, 3G and LTE variants depending on the region. LG partners with Airtel and Qualcomm to launch LTE experience zone in Bangalore

LG Electronics has partnered with Airtel and Qualcomm to set up LTE experience zone in Bangalore for customers to experience 4G LTE. Airtel introduced 4G on mobile first on iPhone 5c and 5s for customers in Bangalore last month. LG launched the 4G LTE variant of the L2 G2 in India earlier this month starting at Rs. 46,000. LG G2 gets the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update in India

Last month LG UK promised that the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update would be available in UK starting mid-March. The international variant of the LG G2 got the KitKat update last week, now the update is available for the Indian G2 users. The KitKat update for the G2 would bring battery-saving location mode, speed improvements for 17% percent faster performance compared to Jelly Bean, Google Cloud Print and lots more new features.
